Filaflex 60A Pro is the latest addition to the Filaflex family of filaments. These filaments were developed by Spanish company Recreus, renowned for making the most elastic FDM 3D printing materials on the market, offering varying degrees of hardness and elasticity.

Until now, Filaflex UltraSoft 70A filament was the most elastic filament on the market, reaching 900% elongation at break. However, Recreus has gone one step further by developing Filaflex 60A Pro.

Filaflex 60A Pro is a TPE filament that has even greater elasticity and softness than the original Filaflex (82A) and Filaflex UltraSoft 70A. It has a Shore hardness of 60A, and achieves 950% elongation at break, making it the most elastic FDM 3D printing material on the market today.

In addition, Filaflex 60A has remarkable hydrolysis resistance, high resistance to bacteria and low temperature flexibility properties. It also has good bonding properties with other materials used in the 3D printing field, such as PLA, ABSHiPS and some Nylons, resulting in composite parts of different properties and hardness. Thanks to all the qualities mentioned above, this material has an infinite number of applications in all kinds of fields.

FilaFlex 60A Pro is non-toxic, but is not approved for medical or food use. This material does not give off odours and does not produce toxic fumes.

Due to its enormous elasticity, it is a material with a high printing complexity. This material is not recommended for all types of extruders, as it is possible that in certain types of extruders it can wrap around the extruder motor pinion or directly bend the filament before it enters the HotEnd, something that happens if a Bowden drive system is used. Therefore, this material is recommended only for very advanced users with experience in 3D printing of flexible materials and 3D printers with a direct drive extruder.

Thanks to its properties and high elasticity, Filaflex 60A Pro filament is a very useful material with a large number of possible applications in industrial sectors.

Printing with flexible filaments opens up a world of possibilities in 3D printing. However, Filaflex 60A Pro is a material that can pose some difficulties when printing.

It is recommended to work only with 3D printers with a direct drive extruder. When starting to print with Filaflex 60A Pro, the following parameters are recommended as a guideline:

  • Print speed: 20 - 30 mm/s.
  • Printing temperature: 215 - 235 °C.
  • No or very little shrinkage (shrinkage distance 1.5 mm).
  • Increase the flow if the filament extrusion is intermittent, between (105-115%).
  • Adjust the extruder tension to avoid choking the filament and causing jams.

As you gain experience you can increase the speed and decrease the temperature in order to achieve high quality prints. It is necessary to use the layer fan because it is quite liquid when melting. As for the extrusion height it does not affect its adhesion between layers (Ideal between 0.1 and 0.25 mm).

Due to its high adhesion to the substrate, Filaflex 60A Pro does not require hot bedding or the use of BuildTak or adhesives such as 3DLackapton tape or Blue Tape.

The manufacturer Recreus provides the printing profiles (CURA, SLIC3R, CRAFTWARE, KISSLICER or SIMPLIFY3D) for FilaFlex 60A Pro at the following link. In addition, the technical data and the safety data sheet provided by the manufacturer can be found in the download tab.
