The ASA-X CF10 filament was created by Spectrum Filaments as a response to the demand for a material that would guarantee the printed models consistently high mechanical performance (hardness and stiffness) even under prolonged use in outdoor weather conditions such as UV radiation, temperature and humidity.
The base for ASA-X CF10 is ASA, a polymer well-known as a highly weather-resistant and easier to print alternative to ABS. Furthermore, ASA is characterized by great chemical resistance and mechanical robustness. This base of ASA is reinforced with 10 % of carbon fibers, which gives parts 3D printed with ASA-X CF10 a range of benefits:
There are many potential applications for the ASA-X CF10 filament. It can be used to manufacture functional prototypes, jigs and fixtures, housings and covers, parts subject to abrasive wear as well as components that need high resistance to outdoor exposure. The great printability of ASA-X CF10 makes it a very efficient material that can help reduce manufacturing costs in the long term and increase yield for production in series on a medium as well as large scale.

Once opened, ASA-X CF10 filament must be stored properly to prevent it from absorbing moisture from the air. Filament is best stored in a hermetically sealed bag with desiccant, in a vacuum-sealed container or in a smart filament container.
The manufacturer recommends printing ASA-X CF10 filament at 235-260 °C on a bed heated to 90-110 °C. It is recommended to print at a speed of 30-70 mm/s with the layer fan on. In case of adhesion problems, products such as Magigoo, DimaFix or 3DLac can be applied to the printing bed.
Since the ASA-X CF10 filament contains carbon fibers, it is necessary to use an abrasion-resistant nozzle such as a hardened steel nozzle, a Vanadium nozzle, a tungsten carbide nozzle or a ruby tip nozzle, with a diameter of at least 0.4 mm.
It is strongly recommended to use standard safety equipment during printing and post-processing of 3D printed parts with ASA-X CF10 filament: safety goggles, gloves, breathing apparatus and protective clothing as required.
