Dyze is a company dedicated to the development and manufacture of components for 3D printers. Dyze produces hotends, sensors, nozzles and all kinds of accessories, but specialises in the design of extrusion systems.
Tungsten carbide nozzles are FDM 3D printer nozzles designed for maximum durability and high performance. These nozzles feature a high thermal conductivity steel body and a tungsten carbide tip.
Tungsten carbide is a ceramic material widely used in industry. Cutting tools for steel and tool steel are made from this material. Tungsten carbide is also widely used in the mining industry, where it is used as a button insert for rock crushing.
Tungsten carbide has two major advantages in the manufacture of nozzles:
Dyze tungsten carbide nozzles are nickel plated. This coating improves the sliding properties of the product, allowing the polymer to slide over the surface and preventing it from sticking to the surface.
Thanks to the properties of tungsten carbide and the nickel coating, tungsten carbide nozzles have a material throughput that is increased by up to 80% compared to standard brass nozzles.
The tungsten carbide nozzles allow the user to process everything from PLA to fibre-reinforced polymers. In addition, the nickel coating reduces friction and makes it ideal for flexible filament printing. The maximum working temperature of these nozzles is 500°C, making them compatible even with advanced materials such as PEKK, PEEK or PEI.
In addition, Dyze has developed different versions of the nozzle to extend its compatibility with different 3D printing equipment.
Nozzle type | Compatible hotends |
