PETG, a material resulting from the glycolization of PET, is one of the most famous copolymers in 3D printing and the most used plastic in the world. Naturally, it has a shiny finish but Spectrum Filaments has developed PETG MATT - a PETG filament with its chemical composition modified to obtain a matte surface of the 3D printed object. The matte finish not only improves the aesthetic properties of the printed parts but also minimises the visibility of layers.
Despite its unique surface finish, PETG MATT preserves the qualities of PETG filaments such as UV stability, improved temperature resistance, good impact resistance as well as rigidity and low brittleness of the printed items.
Furthermore, PETG MATT demonstrates a series of features that make it a very user-friendly material:
Thanks to its revolutionary matte finish and a wide color range, the PETG MATT filament by Spectrum Filaments is ideal for aesthetic applications in industrial design for prototyping for concept visualisation, as well as for uses in interior design, architecture and education.

Once opened, PET-G MATT filament must be stored properly to prevent it from absorbing moisture from the air. Filament is best stored in a hermetically sealed bag with desiccant, in a vacuum-sealed container or in a smart filament container. During printing, the filament can be placed in a drying case.
The manufacturer recommends printing PET-G MATT filament at 230-255 °C on a bed heated to 60-80 °C. It is recommended to print at a speed of 30-70 mm/s with the layer fan on. In case of adhesion problems, products such as Magigoo or DimaFix can be applied to the substrate.
It is strongly recommended to use standard safety equipment during printing and post-processing of 3D printed parts with PET-G MATT filament: safety goggles, gloves, breathing apparatus and protective clothing as required.
