The IBT Flex resin by Formlabs is a Class I biocompatible material that stands out for its flexibility, tear resistance, and translucency. The IBT Flex resin complies with the ISO 13485 standard, making it suitable for use in medical sectors, particularly in dentistry, to 3D print indirect bonding trays or direct composite restoration guides ("composites") that are easy to plan, use, and remove.

It is important to note that it is the responsibility of manufacturers and their respective customers and end users to evaluate the biocompatibility and performance of all printed components for the intended applications and uses (see the Related Posts tab).

The IBT Flex resin is designed to provide consistent and predictable clinical results, ensuring a superior patient experience. With an elongation at break of 135% and enhanced flexibility, it facilitates the placement and removal of devices in the oral cavity with ease, speed, and precision.

The resin's improved transparency further enhances this efficiency, allowing for 85% transparency at 2 mm thickness. Additionally, its optimized viscoelasticity allows for a perfect fit of the guides over the teeth, ensuring precise transfer of the digital model to the clinical setting. This reduces the need for additional intraoral adjustments, streamlining the overall process.

The IBT Flex resin is compatible with several printers and accessories from the Form 3 and Form 4 ecosystems by Formlabs: the Form 3B(+), the Form 3BL, the Form 4B, and the Form 4BL. The resin is also compatible with the Form 3 V2.1 resin tanks, Form 3L V3, Form 4, and Form 4L, as well as the build platforms Form 3, Form 3 2, Form 3 Stainless Steel, Form 3L, Form 3L 2L, Form 4, Form 4 Flex, and Form 4L L, ensuring that users can achieve optimal results regardless of the size or scope of their projects.

It is important to note that the material properties may vary depending on various factors such as part geometry, orientation, print settings, temperature, and the disinfection or sterilization methods used. For a comprehensive guide on how to work with IBT Flex resin, please refer to the attached Manual and Instructions.
