Support material for ABS, ASA, HIPS, PA, PCTG, PETG, PVB, TPC, TPU. Soluble only in VXL EX and VXL Solve.

VXL 90 belongs to the Xioneer VXL family of soluble support materials. The features of the VXL filaments are significantly superior to those of BVOH and PVA. The VXl filaments ensure smoother and more reliable printing due to no clogging and provide better adhesion to the print bed and model.

This support material can also be used in high-speed FDM 3D printing with materials such as BASF Ultrafuse PET, ABS, rPET, PLA Tough, PLA PRO1, ABS Fusion+, PET CF15, or PAHT CF15. The complete support material compatibility table can be found in the Downloads section.

Furthermore, the VXL soluble support materials dissolve faster than BVOH and PVA, offer higher dimensional accuracy and stability, are easier to store and use thanks to far less sensitivity to humidity, and offer a much broader range of model material compatibility thanks to a special proprietary Xioneer formula that guarantees great adhesion

Thus, the VXL 90 support material by Xioneer can be used with materials such as PETG, PVB, TPU, TPC, PCTG, ABS, ASA, HIPS and PA. The main difference between the VXL 70 and the VXL 90 support materials is that VXL 90 can support higher extrusion temperatures (200-220 ºC vs. 220-240 ºC), bed temperatures (50-70 ºC vs. 70-90 ºC) and chamber temperatures (up to 60 ºC vs. up to 80 ºC) but also needs a slightly higher water temperature for dissolution (min. 40 ºC vs. min. 55 ºC).

The VXL filaments are alkali-soluble support materials suitable for intricate 3D printed structures, typically printed with low infill and easily washed away from the model in a solution of water and VXL EX or VXL Solve (detergents designed by Xioneer especially for the VXL support materials), with the help of the Vortex EZ support removal station. The VXL 90 support material is also available as part of the VXL GO Starter Kit, aimed at users who do not have the Vortex EZ support removal station.

Solubility Solubility

The manufacturer recommends printing the VXL 90 support material on a bed heated to 70-90 °C and on a 3D printer with dual extrusion and a heated chamber (up to 80 ºC). Nevertheless, these parameters will largely depend on the recommended printing parameters of the main material (ABS, ASA, HIPS, PA, PCTG, PETG, PVB, TPC, TPU). The maximum extrusion temperature of 220-240 °C should not be exceeded for this filament.

Althouth the VXL 90 support material is more resistant to humidity, it should still be stored in a cool and dry environment (15-25 °C) and away from UV light to ensure the filament's optimal shelf life. The spool should be stored in its original packaging and the included desiccant can be regenerated at 80 ºC for four hours. If the original packaging is not available, VXL 90 should be stored in a vacuum sealed container with a filament drying capsule or in the DryBox EZ by Xioneer, a professional filament storage solution that ensures humidity is kept away from the material.

The VXL 90 support filament must be dissolved only in the VXL EX and VXL Solve detergents, especially designed for the VXL support filaments. This can be done with the help of the Vortex EZ support removal station by Xioneer.

Personal protection equipment (goggles, gloves, garments, shoes, breathing equipment) should always be worn and adequate room ventilation should be used when handling the VXL 90 support filament and the solvents.
