Xioneer has a convenient support dissolving solution for those who do not have the Vortex EZ support dissolving station - the budget VXL Go Starter Kit especially designed for home users. Apart from a spool of VXL 70 or VXL 90, the VXL Go Starter Kit contains everything needed to successfully remove the support structures from a part 3D printed with ABS, ASA, HIPS, PA, PCTG, PETG, PVB, TPC, TPU or PET with the help of the VXL 70 or VXL 90 support filament.

The kit VXL Go Starter Kit contains:

  • A 100 g spool of the selected Xioneer support filament with the chosen diameter (1.75 or 2.85 mm) - VXL 70 or VXL 90.
  • A 10 l plastic container with convenient cutouts for the stirring rod and siphon pump.
  • A stirring rod with heater, equipped with a touch display for setting dissolution time and temperatures.
  • A siphon hand pump for draining the used solution from the tank.
  • A pair of stainless steel tongs for handling the parts.
  • A pair of safety goggles and safety gloves to ensure user safety at all times.
  • A sachet of VXL Solve support dissolving powder. Xioneer VXL EX powder solvent can also be used with VXL Go.

Thanks to its considerable size (380 x 240 x 210 mm), the container is big enough to fit medium-sized 3D printed parts. The method of support removal in the VXL Go Starter Kit is via continuous fluid agitation and heat. The heat is provided by the stirring rod with an adjustable temperature range (25-60 °C). The stirring rod can heat up to its maximum temperature in approximately 25 minutes and consumes a maximum of 850 W (power supply AC 230 V/50 Hz EU-Plug).

The workflow with the VXL Go Starter Kit

Depending on the support filament chosen with the kit as well as on the softening temperature of the main material, the recommended dissolution temperatures will differ and should be adjusted accordingly. Using water that is too hot may cause warping in the main part due to residual internal stresses from the printing.

At a fraction of the cost involved in purchasing a professinal support removal station, the VXL Go Starter Kit offers the possibility of easily removing support material from a part 3D printed with the VXL 70 or VXL 90 support filaments.

Kit Content

  • 1 x 100 g spool of Xioneer VXL 70 or VXL 90 filament (1.75 or 2.85 mm)
  • 1 x 10-liter plastic container
  • 1 x hot stirring rod
  • 1 x pump
  • 1 x clamp
  • 1 x safety goggles
  • 1 x pair of gloves
  • 1 x VXL Solve dissolving powder

Using the VXL Go Starter Kit is very simple. First, the plastic container should be filled with tap water up to the "fill level" mark. Next, the VXL Solve detergent should be added to the water and the model placed in the container with the help of the included tong, just like in the video provided by the manufacturer.

Once the model is inside the solution, the container should be tightly closed and the hot stirring rod should be placed in the designated spot on the lid. Next, the time and temperature should be set on the display of the stirring rod. Countdown will start once the set temperature is reached, for example 40 °C (the water inside the container should not be heated up to more than 60 °C). When the time is up, the device will beep and this is when the lid can be removed and the part extracted with the help of the tong and rinsed with tap water. The last step is to use the siphon pump to empty the container.
