PLA Pastel filament from Rosa3D has been created for users looking for soft, pastel colours for their 3D prints. The rich palette of carefully selected colours and the matt texture of this filament add subtlety, calmness and harmony to the prints. PLA Pastel is distinguished not only by its aesthetics, but also by its ease of printing, lack of characteristic odour, excellent interlayer adhesion, high precision and the ability to post-process the printed parts, as well as its safety in contact with food. In addition, this filament is compatible with high-speed printing. This PLA Pastel adds vitality to numerous applications such as elements of interior design, sculptures, toys, figurines, and various gadgets.

Based on the PLA Pastel series, a multi-coloured 3D printing filament called PLA Rainbow Pastel has also been developed, combining all seven colours.

PLA (Polylactic Acid) stands as a versatile and widely used material in 3D printing thanks to its low warping tendencies, great adhesion, low printing temperatures, vibrant color options and odor-free extrusion. PLA is also renowned for its biodegradability since it is derived from renewable resources, typically corn starch or sugarcane, making it an eco-friendly choice. Another benefit offered by PLA is its versatility in terms of surface finish. One of the many attractive surface finish of PLA is the matte finish achieved through the incorporation of additives or special processing techniques during the manufacturing process, resulting in a non-reflective surface finish of the 3D printed parts.

How to use the Rosa3D masterspool with the refill filament

The eco-friendly refill format significantly reduces plastic usage and contributes to paving a way for sustainable 3D printing. In order to use this PLA Pastel with a 3D printer, the filament must be wound onto the Rosa3D Masterspool, a smart solution designed specially for the Rosa3D filaments in refill format. This reusable masterspool is made of recycled PC and has an approximately 90 % lower CO2 carbon footprint compared to a standard plastic spool. The masterspool is also resistant to impact and heat, which makes it compatible with filament dryers, as well as AMS systems. Alternatively, solutions such as the F2P variable spool holder can be used.

The recommended printing temperature for the PLA Pastel filament ranges between 185-225 ºC, and the best bed temperature is 40-60 ºC. The recommended part cooling fan setting is 50-100 %.

Proper storage of the PLA Pastel filament is essential, as processing damp filament can lead to polymer chain degradation, fragility, poor layer adhesion, stringing, and oozing. It's best to store the filament in a sealed bag with desiccant or in a vacuum-sealed filament container.

Should the filament absorb excess humidity, it should be dried in a filament dryer for 4 hours at 50 ºC.
