PolyLite PLA CF from Polymaker is part of the PolyLite family of filaments characterized by ease of printing and excellent surface finish. PolyLite PLA CF is a PLA based material reinforced with 8 % of premium chopped carbon fiber (by weight). The addition of carbon fibers gives PolyLite PLA CF high rigidity and good mechanical properties such as excellent dimensional accuracy. Furthermore, parts 3D printed with this material will have a smooth matte finish with almost imperceptible layer lines.

In addition, thanks to Polymaker's patented "Jam-Free" technology, Polylite PLA CF benefits from significantly improved thermal stability by increasing the softening temperature, resulting in a "Jam-Free" filament.

The packaging in which PolyLite PLA CF is shipped is highly studied and carefully designed to preserve the quality and condition of the filament. The filament comes in a vacuum-sealed bag together with a desiccant sachet to prevent the filament from getting wet. This bag is self-sealing, so once the filament has been used, it can be put back into the bag (more storage advice can be found in the Usage Tips section). Furthermore, in accordance with Polymaker's ecological mission, all the carton used for the boxes and spools is recycled and for each spool of Polymaker filament purchased, a tree is planted.

PolyLite PLA CF is compatible with almost any FDM 3D printer with an open material system, but it is highly recommended to print this material on printers specially designed for working with fiber-reinforced materials, for example the Raise3D E2CF printer or the Raise3D RMF500 printer - both compatible with the PolyLite PLA CF filament. If any other printer is used, the user must remember to print with an abrasion resistant nozzle (preferably, hardened steel) with a diameter of at least 0.4 mm.

Thanks to its great mechanical properties, ease of use and attractive surface finish, PolyLite PLA-CF is an ideal choice for applications which require an easy-to-use and cost-effective filament with a smooth looking carbon fiber surface finish that hide the layers. The PolyLite PLA CF filament is suitable for the additive manufacturing of functional prototypes.

PolyLite PLA CF should be properly stored to avoid the filament from getting humid. An ideal solution is to store it in a vacuum sealed packaging (with the Slice Engineering filament drying capsule for even better results), an intelligent filament container or in the PolyBox storage box that keeps the filament dry during printing. If the filament absorbs too much moisture, it should be dried at 55 ºC for 6 hours in a filament dryer

The recommended printing settings for the PolyLite PLA CF filament are a 190-220 ºC extrusion temperature at a speed of 30-70 mm/s, on a bed heated to 30-60 ºC, with the layer fan turned on. The best printing surfaces for the PolyLite PLA CF filament is a BuildTak surface and Blue Tape. More recommended printing parameters can be found in the product's technical datasheet in the Downloads section. The recommended support materials for PolyLite PLA CF are PolySupport or PolyDissolve S1.
