PolyDissolve S1 PVA is a support filament that together with PolyDissolve S2 PVA forms part of the PolyDissolve family of soluble support filaments by Polymaker. PolyDissolve S1 PVA is PVA-based and soluble in water at >50˚C, which makes an easy to work with and filament.

This support filament is compatible with many FDM 3D printing materials such as PLA, PETG, PA, PVB and TPU. PolyDissolve S1 PVA offers great adhesion to the surface of parts 3D printed with these materials and leaves the surface of the part impeccable once the support structures have been dissolved.

PolyDissolve S1 PVA does not require the use of a 3D printed with a closed chamber. The recommended extrusion temperature for PolyDissolve S1 is 215-225 ºC and the best bed temperature is 25-60 ºC. The filament should be printed at a speed of 30-40 mm/s and dried at 80 ºC for 12 hours if it absorbs excess moisture. To prevent this from happening, it is highly recommended to store the filament properly and use devices such as PolyBox at the time of printing.

Before sumberging the 3D printed part in water for support dissolution, the bigger parts of the support structures should be removed manually and disposed of in trash. As far as the disposal of the water containing dissolved PVA, the local Sanitary Sewer (Wastewater) Authority should be contanted to obtain the proper disposal method prior to discharging to the sewer.

Like other soluble filaments, PolyDissolve S1 must be stored in low humidity conditions and removed from the printer when not in use. It is recommended that Printdry or Polybox be used to prevent degradation. If the filament absorbs too much humidity, it should be dried at 80 ºC for 12 hours.
