PCTG is a copolyester often used in 3D printing as a drop-in replacement for PETG. Nevertheless, PCTG takes performance to the next level with enhanced impact strength, temperature resistance, and optical clarity. Unlike some other filaments, the Fiberlogy PCTG doesn't require a heated chamber, making it perfect for home printers and novice 3D printing enthusiasts. Its high dimensional stability and minimal shrinkage ensure that your models won't crack during the printing process, making PCTG an accessible and easy-to-print material for all.

The PCTG filament is available in many colors, including transparent options

One of the standout features of the Fiberlogy PCTG is its remarkable impact strength, which outperforms similar materials like PETG. In the Izod test, it achieves a staggering 90 kJ/m² (compared to PETG's 5-8 kJ/m²), making it ideal for applications where strength and durability are essential. Moreover, PCTG can withstand higher temperatures, up to 76°C, expanding its potential use cases even further.

Beyond its impressive mechanical properties, PCTG is also a responsible choice. Fiberlogy PCTG is recyclable, and the Pure Transparent version is approved for food contact, ensuring it's BPA-free. The Fiberlogy PCTG filament can cater to the 3D printing needs in sectors as diverse as the industrial, automotive, or sports sectors. From spare parts and utility models to automotive components, airsoft elements, and more, Fiberlogy PCTG provides parts with high impact strength, chemical resistance and optical transparency, openings up a world of possibilities for 3D printing enthusiasts and professionals alike.

What makes the Fiberlogy PCTG filament truly versatile is that it has been favorably assessed to be part of the Open Filament Program by Raise3D. This makes it possible to extrude this filament on the Pro3 printer.

The ideal printing temperature for PCTG is between 250 ºC and 270 ºC on a heated bed at 90-110 ºC at a speed of 100 mm/s, with the layer fan set to 0-25 % and the flow rate set to 90-100 %. It is not necessary to print this filament in a closed chamber. The recommended retraction speed for PCTG is 10-30 mm/s, and the optimal retractions are 1-2 mm for direct extrusion and 4-6 mm for Bowden systems. Due to the strong adhesion of this material, it is not recommended to print directly on the print surface or glass, as it may damage it. The manufacturer recommends using products such as Kapton tape.

The proper storage of PCTG filament is essential, as processing a wet filament can lead to polymer chain degradation, fragility, poor layer adhesion, stringing, and oozing. It is best to store the filament in a sealed bag with desiccant or in a vacuum-sealed filament container. If the filament absorbs excess moisture, it should be dried in a filament dryer at 60 ºC for 4 hours before it can be extruded.
