Original E3D Nozzle v6/Volcano/Supervolcano Copper

The nickel plated copper nozzle is yet another addition to the wide E3D nozzle catalog, together with brass, stainless steel, hardened steel and the nickel plated steel nozzle X. It comes in 3 varieties for the v6, Volcano and Supervolcano heater blocks, with many diameters available for each type.

The nozzle is made of a special copper alloy characterized by increased thermal conductivity, making the nozzle perform better at higher temperatures than other nozzles. It is, however, not suitable for 3D printing with abrasive materials, such as filaments reinforced with glass fibers, carbon fibers or stone or metal particles.

Apart from protecting the copper alloy from oxidizing at high temperatures, the low surface energy nickel coating reduces plastic adhesion, thus increasing the flow rate and making the nozzle maintenance easier. This feature makes the E3D Original Copper Plated nozzle ideal for 3D printing materials like TPU or PETg, as well as extreme temperature polymers such as Ultem or PEEK where using the silicone sock is not possible due to excessive temperatures. The copper nozzle, similarly to the E3D Original Copper Heater Block, can operate at temperatures of up to 500 ºC (with the PT 100 or PT 1000 temperature sensor).

All E3D nozzles of E3D have marks to identify the nozzle diameter. In the table above we resume the relation of the number of marks with the diameter of the nozzle. The V6, Volcano and Supervolcano copper nozzles are designed to be used with, respectively, the E3D V6, Volcano and Supervolcano heater blocks. Modifying the nozzle diameter will achieve fine details or more substantial, stronger and faster prints.
