Delta WASP 4070 FX - FDM 3D Printer
The Delta WASP 4070 FX represents an advanced solution in professional 3D printing for flexible materials. Its solid metal frame, carbon fiber arms, and steel-core belts ensure absolute stability, consistent precision, and quiet operation even during long prints. The active heated chamber system maintains a controlled temperature that optimizes the printing of technical thermoplastics without compromising the dimensional integrity of parts.
The design integrates a 2.85 mm Direct Drive extruder specially optimized for soft materials with hardness from 50 Shore A. Capable of reaching temperatures up to 280 °C and using nozzles up to 1 mm, it allows the creation of large functional parts with high surface quality. Its powerful extrusion system, combined with the innovative VAC vacuum clamping system, offers outstanding reliability in continuous and large-scale production processes.
This professional 3D printer enables the production of flexible components with exceptional repeatability and high-quality surface finishes, reducing rework and post-processing times. The Vacuum Active Control (VAC) system keeps the print bed firmly adhered during the entire process and automatically releases the part upon completion, optimizing workflow for both rapid prototyping and industrial production.
Its WiFi and LAN connectivity, along with an integrated camera, allow remote project monitoring and full control from mobile devices or computers. Additionally, the new silent drivers and high-precision motors reduce operational noise and improve motion quality. The 7-inch touchscreen with updated GUI simplifies automatic calibration, access to built-in tutorials, and recovery of interrupted jobs, providing a more robust and smooth printing experience.
The FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) technology of the Delta WASP 4070 FX provides a usable print volume of Ø 400 × 700 mm, with layer resolution adjustable between 50 and 350 microns and speeds up to 200 mm/s. The hotend reaches 280 °C, the heated bed up to 120 °C, and the chamber maintains up to 70 °C to ensure proper adhesion and quality of technical materials.
The FLEX X extruder with direct drive handles 2.85 mm filaments with dual hardened steel drive gears, tripling extrusion force compared to conventional extruders. It includes a filament end sensor, VAC system with automatic release, a camera for timelapse and remote monitoring, automatic mesh bed leveling, and compatibility with major slicing software such as Simplify3D, Cura, and Slic3r.
Its full connectivity (WiFi, LAN, and USB) and 32-bit electronics ensure stable and precise motion control. The spool holder accommodates up to 5 kg reels, allowing long prints without interruption, while the mechanical architecture reduces thermal deformation even during extended work sessions.
The Delta WASP 4070 FX has become an essential tool in research laboratories, educational centers, and industrial environments requiring elasticity, precision, and reliability. In industry, it is used for flexible joints, anti-vibration components, and functional prototypes with elastic properties. In medical and orthopedic fields, it is ideal for manufacturing splints, prosthetics, custom supports, and tailored corsets, significantly reducing time and costs compared to traditional methods.
Compatibility with materials such as TPU, TPE, PP, PLA, PETG, ASA, and ABS allows creating solutions tailored to each need, from biocompatible parts to durable components for demanding applications.
A notable example comes from the Spanish orthopedic clinic La Milagrosa, which has integrated additive manufacturing into its clinical practice. The process begins with a 3D scan of the patient, followed by fully customizable digital modeling and printing in flexible polypropylene to produce corsets and splints. This methodology replaces plaster molds with a faster, more hygienic, and precise solution, delivering lightweight, aesthetically refined, and perfectly fitted parts.
In one of the most relevant projects, an orthopedic support for a newborn femur fracture was manufactured, offering a less invasive alternative to full plaster casts and allowing greater mobility during recovery. The results showed cost reduction, less material waste, and shorter delivery times, consolidating the value of orthopedic 3D printing as a revolutionary tool in the medical sector.
The design integrates advanced diagnostics and recovery systems that ensure project continuity even in unexpected situations. The Resurrection System allows resuming jobs after an interruption, while the Free Zeta System enables reprinting from a specific model height. The interface with built-in tutorials and remote technical support ensures fast setup and optimized maintenance.
Thanks to its balance of speed, thermal control, and repeatability, the WASP 4070 FX adapts to both intensive prototyping and short-series production, positioning itself as one of the most versatile and reliable professional 3D printers in its category.
