Its compact and light (700 g) design integrates dual independent heaters, and a precise NEMA17 motor with hardened alloy gears with a 3:1:1 gear ratio, and features such as filament tension adjustment and a double grip mechanism to provide a seamless, reliable printing experience.

MeltCore™ technology

Central to the Zephyr™ extruder is its proprietary MeltCore™ technology, which ensures consistent filament melting and rapid flow rates, one of the highest on the market. The implementation of this technology allows the extruder to reach average flow rates of 420 g/h or 94 mm³/s.

This intelligent design of the Zephyr™ extruder significantly enhances printing efficiency by shortening printing times and at the same time reducing operational costs. These features make the Zephyr™ extruder a critical tool for those aiming to maximize productivity while maintaining cost-effectiveness.

Precise feeding

Precision and consistency are hallmarks of the Zephyr™ extruder. Its innovative double grip technology ensures that filament is accurately and evenly fed, minimizing slippage and enhancing print quality. This feature, combined with the 3.1:1 gear ratio, strikes the perfect balance between speed and torque, ensuring smooth and dependable extrusion across a wide range of printing applications without the need for constant adjustments or reprints.

The Zephyr™ extruder's nine-level filament tension adjustment provides users with precise control over the filament feeding process, ensuring smooth, consistent feeding and reducing issues like slippage or clogging. This feature enables fine-tuning of the grip on filaments, whether working with flexible materials like TPU, which require a gentle hold to avoid stretching, or oversized, rigid filaments that need stronger traction.

High temperature printing

Capable of reaching temperatures up to 500 ºC, the Zephyr™ extruder can handle advanced, high-temperature materials like PEEK and PEI, expanding its use to more demanding applications in sectors such as aerospace, automotive, electric and electronic, etc.

Detailed information on the Zephyr™ filament extruder’s specifications, installation, use, maintenance, material compatibility and limitationscan be found on the Dyze Design website. It is crucial that the document is read in its entirety as it contains vital information that will help prevent malfunctions and damage to the extruder. In the Attachments section the user can find the extruder’s technical datasheet.

The Zephyr™ extruder requires careful handling and the use of appropriate protective gear due to the extremely high temperatures it reaches during operation. Ensure the extruder has fully cooled before carrying out any maintenance. Additionally, exposed wires and components should be handled cautiously to prevent the risk of electric shock.

Some polymers used in this extruder can be hazardous due to the fumes and VOCs generated during extrusion. Users must review the safety data sheets of the used filaments and handle them properly, using a printer with an enclosure or a filtration device to manage emissions. Additionally, acidic polymers left too long in the heatblock may cause equipment degradation, which is why the extruder should be cleaned and maintained regularly. More details are available on the Dyze Design website.
