The ABS Medical filament by Lattice Services is an acrylonitrile butadiene styrene material certified for contact with skin (ISO 10993-5) and sterilizable via gamma rays and ETO. The ABS Medical filament is an amorphous polymer ideal for the additive manufacturing of surgical planning models or prototypes of electronic patient monitoring devices that will come into contact with the patient's skin.
The ABS Medical filament comes in ivory color and is characterized by high thermal resistance (degradation temperature of >250 ºC, glass transition temperature of 95-115 ºC), low deformation, good mechanical resistance and good impact resistance.
It must be noted that parts 3D printed with the ABS Medical filament can under no circumstance be implanted in humans. The manufacturer does not assume any responsibility for the medical use of the product and each use case must be assessed for its viability for any medical use by the user of the ABS Medical filament.

Once opened, the ABS Medical filament should be stored properly to prevent it from absorbing moisture from the air. The best way to store filaments in a tightly sealed bag with desiccant, in a vacuum sealed container or in an intelligent filament container. During printing, the filament can be placed in PolyBox or the FilaDryer S2 filament dryer.
The manufacturer recommends printing ABS Medical filament at 220-240 ºC on a bed heated to 100-115 ºC. It is recommended to print at a speed of 20-50 mm/s with the layer fan on (0-5 %) in a closed printer.
It is highly recommended to wear standard safety equipment during the printing and post-processing of parts 3D printed with the ABS Medical filament - safety goggles, gloves, breathing equipment and protective garments, according to needs.
