Compact dual-drive extrusion system compatible with the Revo and V6 systems.

The Revo Hemera XS extrusion system by E3D possesses all the features of the classic Hemera’s original features but it also includes a few updates that ensure a successful and enjoyable 3D printing experience. The Revo Hemera XS is available in a 12 V or 24 V option, in a fully loaded or a single nozzle kit. Both kits include a Hemera XS assembly, a Hemera fixings kit, a 40 x 40 x 10 mm fan, a Revo HeaterCore, a Revo HeaterCore spring and an extension cable kit. The difference between the fully loaded kit and the single nozzle kit is that the former contains 4 brass Revo nozzles (0.25 mm, 0.40 mm, 0.60 mm, and 0.80 mm), and the single nozzle kit comes with one 0.40 mm brass Revo nozzle.

Compact and precise

The Revo Hemera XS extruder gets its name from its compact nature and reduced size. Compared to the Classic Hemera extruder, the Revo Hemera XS extruder is 92 g lighter and 11 mm shorter. Its compact direct dual drive extrusion system occupies less space in a 3D printer, which makes it perfect for smaller 3D printers. The direct extrusion system can be adapted to a Bowden system with the help of an official Bowdapter by E3D.

The custom stepper motor installed in the Revo Hemera XS extruder makes the extruder move faster and with less inertia compared to the Classic Hemera, which significantly reduces print artifacts such as ghosting, and makes for a smoother 3D printing experience.

Compatibility

The Revo Hemera XS extruder is compatible with the Revo and Classic (V6) ecosystems. A specially designed heatsink directs the air up and away from the printing bed, and makes the extruder compatible with Revo Nozzles. A Hemera heat break (sold separately) can be added to the Revo Hemera XS extruder to make it compatible with the E3D V6 ecosystem. It is also possible to use high flow hotends like SuperVolcano or high flow Revo Nozzles thanks to the high extrusion force of the XS extruder.

Flexible and abrasive filaments are no challenge for the Revo Hemera XS extruder so the user can enjoy excellent performance of the extruder with any project and filament. The extruder has abrasion resistant hobbs as well as enhanced extrusion and retraction control, which allows it to perform so well with challenging materials and 3D print soft flexibles with a shore hardness as low as 75A.

Safety and convenience

Many creative features of the Revo Hemera XS extruder ensure a safe and convenient 3D printing process. If a jam occurs, the drive mechanism of the filament will stop, which avoids filament stripping and makes it much easier to recover the print. What’s more, the process of changing nozzles is very straightforward and does not require tightening or tools. This allows for a fast nozzle swap and an overall more efficient 3D printing process, without hotend leaks.

One of the most interesting features of the Revo Hemera XS extruder is that it has a custom E3D T-slot flat mounting system. This means that the user can mount a range of accessories on the extrusion system, such as bed leveling probes, cooling systems, tool boards, etc.

As far as safety, the Revo Hemera XS extruder has built-in PTC (positive temperature coefficient) behavior. This ensures that when the heater core gets hot, it receives less power. This significantly reduces the risk of thermal runaways and damage to the extrusion system.
