Presentation of Polymaker Fiberon PPS-GF20 filament

Fiberon PPS-GF20
from Polymaker represents the standard in high-performance filaments for 3D printing in industrial, automotive, and electronics applications demanding maximum strength and reliability. This filament reinforced with 20% glass fiber combines outstanding stiffness and mechanical strength with dimensional stability, enabling parts that retain shape and functionality even at temperatures up to 236 °C.

Advanced Technical Properties for Demanding Environments

The electrical insulation capability of Fiberon PPS-GF20 is unmatched, with a dielectric strength of 6.05 kV/mm and a low dielectric constant of 2.71 @ 1 MHz, making it ideal for electrical housings, advanced ADAS sensor enclosures, and structural components in 5G base stations. Its UL94 V0 certification at 1.5 mm ensures certified flame resistance, while its resistance to acids, bases, oils, and solvents guarantees reliable performance even in the harshest environments.

The Fiberon PPS-GF20 requires a full-metal hotend capable of reaching temperatures between 310 °C and 350 °C, and a heated bed between 80 °C and 90 °C. It is recommended to keep the layer fan off during printing to avoid warping and ensure good layer adhesion. Print speed can be up to 250 mm/s, depending on the part complexity and your printer’s capabilities.

For printers with a Direct Drive system, the recommended retraction distance is 1 to 3 mm with a retraction speed of 20 to 40 mm/s. These parameters help prevent stringing and oozing without affecting print quality.

The filament must be kept dry; if it has absorbed moisture, it is recommended to dry it at 100 °C for 10 hours before printing. Depending on ambient humidity, a filament dryer may be required. After printing, a post-annealing at 130 °C for 10 hours can improve mechanical properties and thermal stability.

Among the equipment requirements, it is important to have a full-metal hotend capable of reaching the proper temperature and a hardened nozzle to resist wear from fiber-reinforced filament. Keeping the filament dry when not in use and periodically checking nozzle cleanliness will ensure consistent, high-quality prints.

Finally, it is recommended to print in a stable area, free of drafts, check bed leveling and adhesion before starting large parts, and adjust retraction if stringing or oozing occurs during printing. These measures will ensure optimal results and longer-lasting prints with Fiberon PPS-GF20.
