Crafted from polycarbonate engineered specifically for 3D printing purposes, PolyLite PC offers a combination of superior stiffness, impressive heat resistance reaching up to 120°C, and inherent light-diffusing properties. Its versatility finds use in various applications such as utility hooks, brackets, and functional household items due to its robustness and thermal endurance.

Beyond its structural prowess, the filament's inherent transparency allows for efficient light diffusion, making it a stellar choice for applications in lighting fixtures and lampshades. However, the printing of sizable PC parts necessitates an enclosed chamber to ensure optimal printing conditions and prevent warping or imperfections.

An essential post-printing recommendation for PolyLite PC involves an immediate annealing process at 90 °C for 2 hours aimed at releasing residual internal stress, thereby safeguarding the mechanical integrity of the printed part. Furthermore, PolyLite PC's surface can be refined through sanding to achieve a smoother finish, expanding its potential for a broader spectrum of applications that demand a refined aesthetic touch.

PolyLite PC must be stored properly to prevent filament from getting moist. An ideal solution is to store it in a vacuum-sealed container (using the filament drying capsule from Slice Engineering for even better results), in a smart filament container, or in the PolyBox storage box that keeps the filament dry during printing. If the PolyLite PC filament absorbs too much moisture, it should be dried for 8 h at 80 ºC.

The recommended printing settings for PolyLite PC filament are an extrusion temperature of 250-270 °C at a speed of 30-50 mm/s, on a heated bed at 90-105 °C, preferably with a heated chamber, especially for large parts. The best print surface for PolyLite PC filament is BuildTak, glass, or PEI, with the adhesive Magigoo PC for even stronger adhesion. You'll find more printing instructions in the technical data sheet in the Downloads section.

Complex structures can be 3D printed using PolyLite PC filament and a support filament, such as PolyDissolve S2. To print with supports, a 3D printer with at least two extruders is required.

Furthermore, the manufacturer recommends annealing 3D printed parts with PolyLite PC filament immediately after printing to release any residual internal stresses. The recommended annealing settings are 2 hours at 90 °C.
