Advanced extrusion technology

The extrusion system of the Delta WASP 3MT CONCRETE integrates a LDM WASP screw extruder and a high-precision mortar pump, allowing printing of materials with particle size up to 30 mm, including fiber-reinforced concrete, clay, porcelain, stoneware, and natural mixes.

There are two main tools configurable depending on project requirements:

LDM WASP Extruder XL: Ideal for detailed, high-quality prints with clay, porcelain, and stoneware, with nozzle diameters of 4, 6, and 8 mm.

LDM WASP Extruder XXL: Optimized for large-scale projects, allowing fast, continuous printing of mortars and earth-based mixes with nozzles from 8 to 30 mm and continuous feeding via mortar pump.

The continuous feeding system includes pressure sensor control, automatically adjusting material flow to ensure optimal extrusion regardless of mortar consistency.

Connectivity and remote control

The printer features WiFi connectivity, allowing remote monitoring and control. Its advanced touch interface with large TFT screen facilitates project management, while the onboard camera enables real-time supervision and print timelapse.

Remote technical support allows direct intervention, ensuring print continuity even during power outages or interruptions, thanks to innovative systems like Resurrection System and Free Z-System, which resume prints from the exact interruption point.

Usage Tips for 3D Concrete Printing

Model Design
Design objects with stable interconnections and maximum overhangs of 15° on the vertical plane. Bases should be flat and at least as large as the widest section of the object. Avoid additional supports, as they become integrated into the printed structure.

Recommended Software
For 3D modeling, use programs capable of generating closed objects such as Rhinoceros, Blender, or AutoCAD. For slicing, Simplify3D is recommended, included with the Delta WASP 3MT CONCRETE.

Mixture Preparation
You can use pre-mixed mortar or prepare your own mixtures, ensuring the right consistency for extrusion. For homemade mortars, maintain batches of 40–80 liters with a ratio of water/cement = 0.3 and cement/sand = 0.5.

Components and Fibers
Use CEM 32.5 or 42.5 R cement, river sand with a maximum grain size of 1 mm, additives for viscosity and plasticity, and polymer fibers up to 2 cm to reinforce or control shrinkage. Steel fibers are not recommended.

Environmental Conditions
Maintain the workspace temperature between 25–30°C, preferably in enclosed laboratories with ventilation or partial air conditioning.

Printing Parameters
For cement-based mixtures, use nozzles of 18–30 mm and a layer height of 9–15 mm (layer/nozzle ratio = 0.5). For clay or stoneware mixtures, use nozzles of 8–18 mm. The maximum printable volume is a cylinder 1 m in diameter and 1 m high.

Removal and Cleaning
Once printing is complete, remove the base and the printed object using a pallet jack or forklift. Clean the pumping system with running water, away from the printer and control unit, to prevent damage caused by cement aggressiveness.

Modularity and Assembly
It is possible to assemble 3D printed blocks to create walls, architectural coverings, or sculptures, taking advantage of the precision and complexity this technology offers compared to traditional methods.

Logistical and Operational Requirements
Minimum installation space: 2.5 m x 5.5 m, height 3.60 m. Printing area: 3 m x 4 m, height 3.10 m. The operator must have completed the initial printer training course and understand the safe operation of the pumping system.
