The Revo HT hotsides are E3D's solution to reliable and efficient FDM 3D printing at high temperatures with advanced materials as well as abrasive materials. Installing this Revo HT hotside kit opens a door to new 3D printing possibilities with polymers such as PEI, PPSU, PEEK, PEKK, Ultem and their fiber reinforced blends (except with the 0.25 mm nozzle).

The Revo HT hotside kit is made up of the Revo HT block (plated copper alloy) with fixings (1, 5, 6), a temperature sensor (3), a heater cartridge (4), a Revo spring (2), and, depending on the variant chosen, no nozzle, one HTX-Abrasive nozzle, or 4 HTX-Abrasive nozzles.

Complete technical data and an assembly guide can be found on the E3D website. The hotsides come in many variants in order to let the users customize their Revo hotend according to their needs.

The personalizable elements of the Revo HT hotside assembly are the heater cartridge, the temperature sensor, and the nozzle. Each of these elements has been carefully designed to ensure not only supreme performance at high temperatures but also ease and safety of assembly and use. The characteristics of the heater cartridges, the temperature sensors and the nozzles will be discussed in detail below.

The heater cartridge

The user can choose between:

These HT heater cartridges are crafted for extended durability at high temperatures while minimizing the time required for heating, ideal for those who print with high temperature materials on a regular basis. While typical 3D printer heater cartridges can attain high temperatures, they often experience premature failures.

It is recommended to only use these heater cartridges with the Revo HT block and the Revo HTX-Abrasive nozzles since the working temperatures of these cartridges can melt standard aluminum hot blocks.

The temperature sensor

The available temperatures sensor options are the following:

The Revo PT100 and PT1000 temperature sensors

The use of the PT100 temperature sensor (if the printer doesn't already use one) requires the use of an amplifier board. With the PT1000 sensor this is not the case since it can be connected to the pre-existing temperature sensing pin using a 4.7k pullup resistance.

The nozzle

The users can choose to purchase the Revo HT hotsides without the Revo HTX-Abrasive nozzles, in a single nozzle kit (0.4 mm HTX-Abrasive nozzle), or in a fully loaded kit with the HTX-Abrasive nozzles in all available diameters (0.25 mm, 0.4 mm, 0.6 mm, 0.8 mm).

Similar to the ObXidian nozzles, the Revo HTX-Abrasive nozzles feature a toughened steel tip and a copper heat spreader segment designed to enhance heat transfer to the heatsink. This entire assembly is further treated with chromium nitride coating to ensure resistance against abrasion, even in environments with temperatures as high as 500 °C.

The Revo HTX-Abrasive nozzle

Every Revo Nozzle combines a preassembled nozzle and heatbreak into a single unit, eliminating the need for potentially dangerous hot tightening and greatly reducing the risk of incorrect assembly or leaks in the hotend.

It must be kept in mind that the Revo HTX-Abrasive nozzles are not compatible with V6 hot blocks but are compatible with Revo Micro, Revo Six, Revo Voron, Revo Creality, Revo Hemera XS, Revo Prusa MK3, Revo Prusa Mini, Revo MicroSwiss NG, Revo Biqu H2 V2, and Revo LGX.

Reliable and versatile

Upgrading the 3D printer with the official E3D Revo HT hotsides will allow users to 3D print with advanced high temperature materials thanks to the quality heat resistant hot block, heater cartridges and temperature sensors. The HTX-Abrasive nozzles, designed to withstand heat and abrasion, complete the ensemble and ensure durability, versatility and excellent results.
