Nozzle Revo HT-Abrasive (high temperature) E3D
The Revo HT-Abrasive nozzles from the E3D Revo ecosystem were specially designed for high temperature 3D printing with abrasive materials. The HT-Abrasive nozzles come in diameters of 0.25 mm, 0.4 mm, 0.6 mm and 0.8 mm, and can work at extrusion temperatures of up to 500 ºC. This allows for printing with advanced materials such as PEEK, PEKK, PEI or PPSU, including their fiber-reinforced versions.
It must be kept in mind that reaching the extrusion temperatures of 500 ºC is only possible with the installation of the REVO High Temperature Hotside kit. Without the hotside kit, the HT-Abrasive nozzles alone can only print at temperatures of up to 300 ºC.
Just like the ObXidian nozzles, the HT-Abrasive nozzles have a tip made of hardened steel, a copper carrier and a copper spreader segment. These material choice results in an optimization of heat transition to the heatsink. The HT-Abrasive nozzles are coated with chromium nitride, which is what gives them their impressive temperature resistance (up to 500 ºC).
Each HT-Abrasive nozzle is preassembled with a heatbreak as a single unit, so there’s no hazardous hot tightening, no chance of incorrect assembly, no hotend leaks and an overall reliable high temperature 3D printing. The HT-Abrasive nozzles are compatible with the following hotends: Revo Micro, Revo Six, Revo Voron, Revo CR, Revo Hemera XS, Revo Prusa MK3, Revo Prusa Mini, Revo MicroSwiss NG, and Revo Biqu H2 V2.
The recommended cleaning methods for the Revo HT-Abrasive nozzles are the following: nylon cleaning filament, warm pull, and cold pull for internal cleaning, and a brass brush for external cleaning. The Revo HT-Abrasive nozzles should NOT be cleaned with a needle, steel wire brushes of blow torches as it could results in damage.
It should be kept in mind that the hardness of the HT-Abrasive coating may lead to the release of tiny particles from the brass brush's bristles, resulting in a dusting effect around the nozzle. This dusting will impart a brass-like shine to the nozzle's appearance. Nevertheless, it's important to note that the coating remains fully intact, and there won't be any impact on its wear performance.
