The PC Medical filament by Lattice Services is a polycarbonate based medical grade filament certified for contact with skin (ISO 10993-5) and sterilizable via gamma rays, ETO and autoclave. This makes the PC Medical ideal for applications in contact with the skin as well as for parts that will be used in the operating room for guided surgeries (surgical guides, cutting guides, medical instruments).
The PC Medical filament prints translucent parts with blue reflections, as seen in Image 1. The parts made with this material are characterized by high mechanical strength, great thermal resistance and excellent chemical resistance, features typical of PC. The chemical resistance makes the PC Medical filament suitable for applications in contact with fluids (respirators, breathing duct, suction).
It must be noted that parts 3D printed with the PC Medical filament can under no circumstance be implanted in humans. The manufacturer does not assume any responsibility for the medical use of the product and each use case must be assessed for its viability for any medical use by the user of the PC Medical filament.

Once opened, the PC Medical filament should be stored properly to prevent it from absorbing moisture from the air. The best way to store filaments in a tightly sealed bag with desiccant, in a vacuum sealed container or in an intelligent filament container. During printing, the filament can be placed in PolyBox or the FilaDryer S2 filament dryer.
The manufacturer recommends printing PC Medical filament at 255-275 ºC on a bed heated to 120-140 ºC. It is recommended to print at a speed of 20-40 mm/s with the layer fan on (0-50 %) in a closed printer.
It is highly recommended to wear standard safety equipment during the printing and post-processing of parts 3D printed with the PC Medical filament - safety goggles, gloves, breathing equipment and protective garments, according to needs.
