Z-ULTRAT: beyond ABS

Materials

Zortrax is a Polish company renowned in the 3D printing industry for the development of professional 3D printing systems. In addition to its 3D printers of various technologies, Zortrax offers a wide range of technical materials that are highly valued by end users.

One example of this is its filaments, which differ from third companies in that they are perfectly optimised for the best results when combined with its LPD 3D printers, with the advantage that they can also be used in almost any FDM 3D printer on the market.

The range of filaments developed by Zortrax is extensive (ABS, ASA, PC-ABS, Nylon, HiPS, etc.) and is studied in such a way that the user can always find in its catalogue the material that best suits his needs and requirements.

One of the technical materials that is attracting the most interest in the 3D printing world is Z-ULTRAT and, of course, its improved version: Z-ULTRAT Plus. Z-ULTRAT is a filament with an ABS base combined with PC. The result is an improved ABS that increases the mechanical properties of the base polymer and provides greater durability to the parts. In addition, this material provides an enviable surface quality and superior finishes.

These characteristics are perfect for the manufacture of functional prototypes or end-use parts that need to maintain their original shape over time. Such is the quality of the product that the properties of parts printed with this material resemble those of parts produced by ABS injection moulding.

To top it all off, Z-ULTRAT and Z-ULTRAT Plus filaments are compatible with Zortrax Apoller, a post-processing device that provides a smooth and shiny finish to parts.

All of these qualities can make a difference in the manufacturing process, allowing users to reduce production costs in their companies without sacrificing part quality.
