Which Taulman 3D filament choose?

Materials

Most users who are new to the world of 3D printing usually begin using the most common strands that are the PLA and ABS. But in many cases these two materials are not suitable for engineering parts or parts that have to be suitable for specific high performance applications. The prestigious US manufacturer of Taulman 3D filaments is at the forefront of innovation in engineering materials for 3D printing.

Today the range of 3D Taulman filaments exceeds half so often 3D printing users find it difficult to know which Taulman 3D filament is right for your application.

We present a summary of the main characteristics of the filaments Taulman 3D. A major salient magnitudes of these filaments are tensile strength and elongation.

Tensile strength is the maximum stress a body can withstand before breaking and elongation or elongation is a quantity that measures the increase in length of a material when it is subjected to a tensile stress before rupture occurs. The elongation is expressed in percent (%) relative to the initial length.

The following graph shows a comparison between the filaments of Taulman 3D, the PLA, ABS and polycarbonate (PC) to help visualize the differences between these materials in relation to the quantities quoted above:

To summarize we quote the main characteristic of each filament Taulman 3D and examples of common applications. For more detailed information can be found in the very description of the products in our website.

Taulman PCTPE: This is the most flexible nylon filament developed specifically for 3D printing. It features a TPE elastomer additive to give additional flexibility. Potential uses are in wearable articles, systems and systems toothed pawls to vibration damping systems, etc.

Nylon 230: A low temperature nylon able to be printed on a 3D printer that does not have hot bed system. The potential uses are lightly loaded gears, fan blades, phone housings, protective covers, cosmetics packaging, etc.

Nylon 645: This is an industrial nylon nondestructive evaluation capacity. The potential uses are in gear heavy load, propeller blades, general industrial needs, large flanges, boxes, broad chemical resistance to gasoline and sandblasting, etc.

Nylon Bridge: This is a nylon has been developed due to demand for 3D printing community in general. This is an intermediate bridge between the nylon or nylon filament nylon 618 and 645. The potential uses are half load gear in brackets spacers, flanges, parts with average chemical resistance, spare parts for home, etc.

Nylon 680: This nylon filament was developed to meet certain criteria of the FDA for clinical applications and others. The main potential uses are in clinical, parts for food contact and medical industries. Like any material must be thoroughly tested for each particular use before certifying the complete validity for use in concrete.

Alloy 910: This alloy nylon and PC developed to withstand very high tensile and sufficient to maintain a high degree of durability elongation. Alloy 910 supports the strand tensile 8100 PSI and about 12000 PSI when injection molded. Potential uses are in damping parts, high pressure resistant parts, supports, high range gears, cams, etc.

T-Glase: It was specifically developed to provide three main features of 3D printing. Low shrinkage, strength and superior to ABS best finish ABS and PLA because it has improved optical properties (this is the most translucent-colored nature materials). Presenta a union between layers so that the effect of not producing laminating, even in large prints. Potential uses are in applications in which a translucent pizzas just in architectural components, jewelry, etc.

Tritan-Bluprint: This filament is made of high tensile strength. It has a Tg of 110 ºC, a temperature of 265 °C impression, and has a certain transparency. The main uses are covered lamps, car lights, thermal separators, parts in contact with boiling water (supports 5 hours continuous contact with boiling water), etc.

      Hola
