Braskem is a globally renowned market leader in the manufacturing of chemicals and plastics, with a rich range of products for additive manufacturing, including 3D printing filaments carefully engineered for specialized applications. One of the materials from the Braskem catalog is the FL605R-CF filament.
It is a high-strength engineering grade material made with 90 % of recycled PE/PP sourced primarily from recycled bottle caps. Apart from low density, lightweight, and resistance to water, chemicals and impacts (features inherited from PE and PP), the FL605R-CF filament is characterized by elevated stiffness and durability thanks to the addition of recycled carbon fibers.
Furthermore, the FL605R-CF filament yield parts with a superior surface finish and elevated dimensional stability. FL605R-CF is very easy to print thanks to its low warpage, and great interlayer and bed adhesion. What makes this material even more user-friendly is that no heated chamber or pre-drying are required to enjoy a smooth 3D printing process and achieve great results. Thanks to its sustainable composition the FL605R-CF filament is an excellent environmentally friendly alternative to materials with similar properties.
Thanks to its great printability, as well as excellent mechanical and chemical properties, and outstanding behavior in demanding conditions, parts 3D printed with the Braskem FL605R-CF filament have a wide range of potential applications in the automotive, aerospace, packaging, consumer goods and industrial sectors. The FL605R-CF filament is the perfect material for prototyping and mass customization, especially of parts that require lightweight and rigidity with a certain degree of chemical resistance.

Although the FL605R-CF filament is resistant to moisture and pre-drying is not required, the spool should be stored properly to avoid potential printing and part quality issues. It is recommended to store the spool in a tightly sealed plastic bag with a desiccant or in an intelligent filament container.
This material should be printed at a temperature of 220-240 ºC on a bed heated to 60 ºC. A heated chamber is not required, the best fan speed is 50-100 % and the optimal printing speed is 30-65 mm/s. Due to the abrasive nature of carbon fibers, the manufacturer recommends using an abrasion resistant nozzle (hardened steel, vanadium, ruby tip, etc) with a diameter of at least 0.6 mm.
