The FibreX PP+GF30 filament, developed by 3DXTECH, is a high-performance 3D printing material made from a 30% glass fiber-reinforced polypropylene copolymer. This specialized formulation is designed to offer superior thermal stability, reduced shrinkage, and minimal warping compared to other polypropylene-based filaments. The incorporation of glass fibers significantly enhances its mechanical properties, making it an ideal choice for industrial applications, functional prototypes, and end-use parts that will need to withstand heavy impacts or stress. Common uses for this filament include automotive components, tooling fixtures and jigs, household appliances, and sporting goods, where strength and durability are critical.

What's more, the FibreX PP+GF30 filament provides exceptional resistance to a wide range of chemicals, ensuring longevity and reliability in harsh environments. It boasts a low density and moisture absorption rate, which results in lightweight yet robust parts. As far as mechanical properties, the material also demonstrates high tensile strength (65 MPa), stiffness (6750 MPa), and impact resistance, with a flexural strength of 85 MPa and a flexural modulus of 5320 MPa. Additionally, it has a high heat deflection temperature (HDT) of 139°C and superior electrical properties, with a surface resistance greater than 10¹³ ohm/sq, making it suitable for applications that require both strength and electrical insulation.

While FibreX PP+GF30 is compatible with most open-source FDM/FFF 3D printers and does not require an actively heated chamber, its abrasive glass fibers demand special consideration. To avoid nozzle wear, users must employ a hardened steel nozzle with a minimum diameter of 0.4 mm. This filament offers an intermediate difficulty level for 3D printing, requiring careful handling to ensure optimal performance. For best results, users should refer to the filament's usage tips for proper storage and printing guidelines.

Since the FibreX PP+GF30 filament is a user-friendly intermediate level material, its use does not require advanced skills or equipment. The optimal extrusion temperature is 240-270 °C, the bed temperature should be 80-110 °C, and an actively heated chamber is not required. To promote good adhesion of the printed parts to the printer bed and to avoid warping, the use of Nano Polymer Adhesive or Magigoo PPGF is recommended.

In order to ensure printer longevity and optimal part quality, it is highly recommended to use an abrasion-resistant nozzle (e.g., hardened steel) with at least 0.4 mm output diameter when printing the FibreX PP+GF30 filament. This is due to the abrasive glass fibers within the PP matrix, and it will help avoid clogging, excessive nozzle wear and inferior print quality.

The proper storage of the FibreX PP+GF30 filament is essential, as processing a wet filament can lead to polymer chain degradation, fragility, poor layer adhesion, stringing, and oozing. It is best to store the filament in a sealed bag with desiccant or in a vacuum-sealed filament container. If the filament absorbs excess moisture, it should be dried in a filament dryer at 65 ºC for 4 hours before it can be extruded.
