The PLA Wood filament by R3D is a composite material consisting of 20% wood powder and PLA. PLA Wood is engineered to offer exceptional resistance to corrosion and moisture. This filament showcases a remarkable ability to replicate the authentic texture of wood in 3D printed models, delivering a genuine tactile experience. The printed models possess the remarkable properties of actual wood, allowing for versatile manipulations such as nailing, drilling, carving, and painting, providing an authentic wood-like finish that can be seamlessly integrated into various projects with ease and precision.

PLA (polylactic acid) filament is renowned for its eco-friendly nature, derived from renewable resources like corn starch or sugarcane. This biodegradable filament showcases minimal warping during printing, making it ideal for use on 3D printers without a heated bed. The recommended printing temperature for the PLA Wood filament ranges between 190 and 210 ºC, and the best bed temperature is 80-100 ºC. The recommended printing speed is 50-70 mm/s.

Proper storage of the PLA Wood filament is essential, as processing damp filament can lead to polymer chain degradation, fragility, poor layer adhesion, stringing, and oozing. It's best to store the filament in a sealed bag with desiccant or in a vacuum-sealed filament container.
