UNIZ 3D printers have revolutionised resin 3D printer technology with a new way of working. The basis of operation of these resin 3D printers is LED-LCD technology, an element that solidifies the resin layer by layer, a process similar to that of a DLP 3D printer. UNIZ has a wide range of desktop LED-LCD 3D printers to suit all types of users, from technicians who need to create prototypes or tools to jewellers who demand the highest possible surface quality.
UNIZ printers are faster than other UV resin printers on the market using DLP or SLA technologies thanks to LED-LCD operation, where the LED arrays turn on and off extremely quickly without compromising part finish and accuracy.
UNIZ 3D printers feature a patented liquid cooling system, which allows the LED array to be used more acutely, resulting in higher print volume and higher speed. This set of features allows for large production runs of parts simultaneously with short build times and good detail, without the spectacular surface finish of SLA printers.
UNIZ Slash 2 is one of the 3D printers in the Slash range, featuring a 192×120×200 mm print volume and a UNIZ-developed 8.9-inch 4K UHD monochrome LCD display that enables higher precision, better light transmission and longer life than other LCD 3D printers. In addition, UNIZ Slash 2 features an incredible XY resolution of 49.8 μm. The layer resolution is between 10 and 300 μm.
UNIZ Slash 2 has an intelligent heat management system which, together with UNIZ's patented liquid cooling, enables high printing speeds.
Thanks to its features, this 3D printer is ideal for users who need high resolution.
In addition to the development of the 3D printer with the aim of achieving professional quality results without impacting on the user-friendliness of the device, UNIZ provides the user with a wealth of articles related to the use, maintenance and troubleshooting of the UNIZ Slash 2 3D printer. This includes everything from a start-up guide to a comprehensive maintenance guide.
UniZ has developed a range of resins for its printers that cover all sectors, both domestic and professional. The zABS is the right resin for making parts with good strength, durability and a smooth, matt finish, on which a coat of paint can be applied without any problem. zPMMA has an extremely high percentage of translucency, ideal for prototypes or models where seeing the inside is crucial. For the most technical and demanding users in terms of mechanical properties, there is the zENG resin, with high ductility and impact resistance, but without sacrificing precision and surface finish. More specifically, UNIZ offers zOrtho resin, particularly for dentists or orthodontists, zWAX, with which jewellery professionals can create models for direct casting, and other technical resins.
UNIZ has two types of lamination software for its two different lines of LCD 3D printers. On the one hand, UNIZ Maker is aimed at users of IBEE 3D printers, while UNIZ Desktop is aimed at users of UNIZ Slash models.
The lamination software for the Slash models, UNIZ Desktop, focuses on providing as simple a service as possible, but with the ability to configure a wide range of parameters. Common ones include customised media generation, advanced control of multiple printers simultaneously, cloud printing service and Z-axis resolution. In this last parameter, UNIZ Desktop offers something new in resin 3D printing: The option to choose the print quality in different layers of the part.
This lamination software is available for Windows and Mac OS.
UNIZ also has a free APP compatible with UNIZ Slash models, which allows you to directly download models from the cloud, start them, stop them, see their status and even take photos in real time.
The UNIZ Slash 2 3D printer from UNIZ is ideal for professional users who want to produce high-resolution parts, models and prototypes in a wide variety of materials and colours. The implementation of UNIZ 3D printers in production processes facilitates and speeds up the workflow, thanks to the ease of use of the lamination software, the LED-LCD 3D printer itself and support systems such as the automatic resin transfer assistant from the tank to the bottle and auto-filling during part production.

To start using the UNIZ Slash 2 3D printer, the first step is to configure the printer. To do this, the following steps must be followed:
The 3D printer must be placed on a smooth surface.
Next, the four screws underneath the 3D printer must be adjusted to help level it if the printer is slightly tilted. There is a levelling bubble located in the centre on the build platform. When the air bubble is centred, the 3D printer is perfectly level.
First, tilt the resin tank at about 30° and insert the rear fixed locating tabs into the holes on the back of the LED panel.
Next, push the resin reservoir down towards the LCD panel.
Finally, push the lock to secure the resin reservoir.
The metal surface of the construction platform must be held downwards. At this point, it must be ensured that the locking arm is open and the construction platform must be pushed onto the arm.
Finally, the locking arm must be pulled clockwise to lock the construction platform.
First, you must remove the cleaning bottle.
Next, the rigid cap of the resin bottle must be removed.
At this point, the resin bottle should be inserted into the slot making sure that the needle pierces the rubber cap.
Then, one of the vent holes should be drilled with the drilling tool provided.
Finally, put the rigid cap on the bottom of the bottle.
The last step would be to install the liquid level sensor.
For more information on how to use the 3D printer, how to print or for maintenance guidelines, UNIZ has a website where the user can find all this information.
