Elastic resin with Shore 90 A hardness, ideal for printing intricate flexible parts.

BASF is a German manufacturer specialising in the development of chemical products. Its product range includes products for the production of 3D printing materials for FDM, resin and SLS. These products fall under the well-known Ultrafuse, Ultracure and Ultrasint brands.

Forward AM's Ultracur3D®EL 4000 resin is one of the most recent additions to BASF's line of flexible and elastic resins. It stands out primarily for its high Shore 90 A hardness, the highest in the portfolio, as well as its high strength (ideal for printing intricate flexible parts), rebound effect and wear resistance, making it an ideal resin for applications such as:

  • Footwear
  • Bicycle saddles
  • Cushioning pads

The material is available in transparent and black.

Like all resins in BASF's Ultracur3D range, this resin offers impeccable print quality as well as an outstanding surface finish. This, together with its excellent price/performance ratio and balanced mechanical properties, makes it an ideal material not only for the production of prototypes but also for functional components and end products.

BASF's Ultracur3D resins are highly sensitive to light and should therefore always be stored in their closed containers and away from light.

Before starting a print, the resin should be shaken well and, if possible, vacuumed to remove any bubbles that may have formed.

Once printed, the pieces should be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. To do this it is advisable to immerse the pieces in a container with isopropyl alcohol and place this container in an ultrasonic cleaner for 4 minutes. It is recommended not to immerse the piece for long periods of time to avoid deformation and softening.

After cleaning, the pieces should be dried for 30 minutes at 40 ºC. Once dry, parts printed with BASF Ultracur3D resins should be cured at room temperature to obtain optimum properties. Curing conditions will depend on the characteristics of the printer used and the curing equipment.

All customers who have purchased any resin from the BASF Ultracur3D range can request the appropriate user guide. This can be done using the contact form by selecting "Technical Support" in the subject line and the order number of the resin.
