The PLA Silk filament from the Panchroma series introduces an innovative approach to 3D printing, offering a combination of ease of use, consistent performance, and aesthetic appeal. It delivers a luxurious silky finish with minimal layer lines, making it perfect for creating smooth, high-gloss decorative items or prototypes. Available in a wide range of rich, vibrant colors, this filament elevates the appearance of any project with its refined surface quality.
Designed to meet the needs of a variety of creative projects, the Panchroma line offers an expansive selection of colors, finishes, and unique filament effects. Each formulation is fine-tuned to provide the best possible balance between visual quality and printability. PLA Silk is ideal for applications where both visual appeal and precision are key, making it an excellent choice for prototypes and final models that require a premium look.
Printing with PLA Silk is straightforward, with a recommended extrusion temperature between 190-230 ºC and a bed temperature range of 25-60 ºC. It can be printed at speeds of up to 200 mm/s, providing flexibility for a variety of print speeds without compromising quality. The filament is designed with a smart spool that features an anti-slip edge, ensuring a hassle-free experience when used with automatic material systems such as the Bambu Lab AMS, making it an adaptable solution for modern 3D printing workflows.

Like any 3D printing filament, the Panchroma PLA filaments should be stored properly in order to avoid their deterioration and, in consequence, extrusion problems and inferior print quality. The spool can be stored in an airtight plastic bag, in a resealable bag with a desiccant capsule, or in a smart filament container. If the filament has absorbed too much moisture, it must be dried before printing in a filament dryer for 6 hours at 55 ºC or in the PolyDryer solution. The recommended settings are setting 1 for Panchroma PLA Silk and others, and settings 1-3 for PLA Matte and Satin.
The Panchroma PLA filaments should be extruded at a temperature of 190-230 ºC on a bed heated to 25-60 ºC. It is recommended to use the cooling fan at 100% but a printer with a heated chamber is not needed. As far as the printing speed, it is recommended to use max. 200 mm/s for the PLA Silk and other Panchroma PLA varieties, max. 300 mm/s for the PLA Satin and Matte PLA, and max. 400 mm/s for CoPE.
Complex parts can be 3D printed with the Panchroma PLA filaments with the help of support filaments such as the PolySupport filament or the PolyDissolve S1 filament.
Panchroma PLA Glow and Panchroma PLA Luminous are glow-in-the-dark materials enriched with an abrasive additive, making a hardened nozzle essential for printing. These filaments should not be used in AMS systems with plastic gears or tubes due to their abrasive nature.
