Although the ObXiDian® 500 stands out for its exceptional wear resistance compared to other hardened nozzles, some engineering filaments with highly abrasive fillers can accelerate wear even on this advanced technology. Recent filaments with particularly aggressive additives —such as certain ranges with advanced fibres— can cause noticeable wear over time. Therefore, it is important to consider that under extreme abrasion conditions, the nozzle will not be completely immune and may eventually require replacement.

Moreover, many filled materials contain particles whose size may equal or exceed the diameter of standard nozzles, especially in smaller sizes such as 0.4 mm. The passage of large particles through a reduced opening significantly increases the risk of clogging during extrusion.
