Silica Gel is a practical and reusable solution to maintain a dry environment when storing filaments or in enclosed 3D printers. Thanks to its regenerable design, it can be dried in an oven at a maximum temperature of 80 °C, ensuring continuous protection against moisture. It is ideal for 3D printing environments where humidity can negatively affect filaments. Its ability to be reused makes it a sustainable and cost-effective option, ensuring material durability and preventing issues such as clumping or loss of mechanical properties.

Currently, enclosed printers such as the Bambu Lab series X1 or H2, Creality K2, Elegoo Centauri Carbon can benefit from the use of this silica gel to keep the interior and sensitive areas such as electronics and motion systems free from moisture, preventing issues and extending their lifespan. And not only printers—with the popularization of multimaterial systems such as those from BambuLab (AMS, AMS 2 Pro, AMS HT), Anycubic with the Ace PRO, Creality’s CFS, Qidi Box, etc., which can store spools ready for printing, the use of this silica gel reduces moisture absorption both by the device and the filaments inside it.

It is available in two formats:

  • Bulk in a practical 500 g bag, suitable for use in custom containers such as those in several printers, dryers, multimaterial systems, and divided according to specific needs.
  • In 10 individual 30 g packs, perfect for long-term filament storage in airtight bags, for use inside the devices themselves (printers, dryers, CMS), as replacements for single-use gel packs.

How to Reactivate Silica Gel

To restore its absorption capacity, place the pack in an oven at a maximum temperature of 80 °C. Leave it heating for a few hours until the color changes from blue or green (saturated with moisture) to orange. This color change indicates that the gel is once again active and ready for reuse.

Silica Gel Storage

To preserve its effectiveness, store the product in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, avoiding moisture absorption before use. At the end of its life cycle, it can be disposed of in the general waste container.

1. Main use
