Bambu Lab AMS HT – Sistema Automático de Materiales
The Bambu Lab AMS HT represents a significant evolution in automatic filament management within the Bambu Lab ecosystem. This solution has been designed to meet the demands of those working with technical materials, especially highly hygroscopic and reinforced composites, which require very specific conditions to preserve their integrity during the 3D printing process.
Unlike other feeding systems, the AMS HT allows high-temperature drying up to 85 °C, a crucial feature for filaments like PA, PC, or PET-CF, among others. This process not only ensures that the material reaches the extruder in optimal conditions but also prevents common failures associated with moisture absorption, such as warping or bubbles in the layers.
The system is equipped with intelligent electromagnetic ventilation that activates or stops airflow based on internal temperature and humidity values. This technology enables more effective dehumidification, maintaining stable conditions inside the module thanks also to the use of completely airtight storage. As a result, filaments retain their properties even after weeks of inactivity without needing to be removed from the system.
Material feeding is performed by a state-of-the-art brushless motor, ensuring faster and quieter supply. Compared to traditional systems, this motor allows spool changes that are 60% faster. Additionally, the ceramic filament entries offer exceptional resistance against abrasion caused by carbon or glass-reinforced materials, significantly extending the system's lifespan.
A notable feature is the automatic spool rotation during drying, ensuring even heat distribution and eliminating areas with lower dehumidification. This is key to guaranteeing that the filament is fully prepared at the time of printing, reducing failures and improving process reliability.
Regarding user interaction, the AMS HT includes a digital panel providing clear information about the current drying status and remaining desiccant life. This interface allows constant monitoring without disassembling the system or using additional software. RFID compatibility enables automatic recognition of Bambu Lab filaments, immediately loading the optimal parameters for each material without manual intervention. For users working with third-party filaments, settings can also be customized, ensuring full flexibility without sacrificing system automation.
Additionally, for delicate materials like TPU, the system includes an independent filament outlet that avoids complex or forced feeding paths, reducing the risk of breakage or deformation during loading.
In environments requiring a wide variety of materials or colors, the AMS HT can be integrated with up to 4 AMS 2 Pro units and 8 AMS HT units in series, managing up to 24 filament spools simultaneously. This scalability makes it an essential tool for advanced users and production environments working with multiple materials and colors in a single project.
