The MattFlex 40D filament from Fiberlogy is a high-performance flexible material for 3D printing that combines an appealing matte finish with durable mechanical properties. Designed with a 1.75 mm diameter and a net weight of 850 g, it is available in various colors such as black, graphite, white, blue, and red. This filament stands out with a Shore hardness rating of 40D, providing a unique balance between flexibility and rigidity. It enables efficient and high-quality printing at speeds of up to 60 mm/s, making it a reliable choice for users seeking both speed and precision.

The matte finish of MattFlex 40D adds a visually appealing, low-gloss look to printed parts (unlike FiberFlex 40D), minimizing the visibility of layer lines and enhancing surface quality. This feature makes it an excellent choice for applications where aesthetics are important, such as prototypes, gadgets, or display items. Additionally, the filament requires minimal post-processing, as the matte surface effectively hides imperfections and creates a smooth, professional finish.

In addition to its aesthetic appeal, MattFlex 40D offers notable functional benefits, making it ideal for various applications in both household and industrial settings. Its impressive resistance to impact, tension, and compression—with up to six times the tensile strength and 50% more compressive resistance—makes it a versatile material for creating flexible parts, such as machinery gaskets, phone cases, watch straps, and even hinges. Moreover, its resistance to chemicals, abrasion, and low temperatures broadens its range of applications, making it suitable for demanding environments and uses like durable toys, flexible seals, and wearable accessories.

To prevent moisture absorption, MattFlex 40D should be stored in a dry, sealed plastic bag with a filament desiccant capsule or in a hermetic container. Filament dryers are recommended during printing, and if necessary, drying the MattFlex 40D filament before printing (at 60 ºC for 4 hours) will ensure optimal print quality.

Due to the strong adhesion of MattFlex 40D filament, it is not recommended to print directly on the bed or glass surface as it may damage it. It is recommended to use a bed adhesion solution, such as adhesive tape or adhesive glue.

It is recommended to maintain a printing temperature of 210-230 ºC, a bed temperature of 50-70 °C, and the fan should be set between 50 and 75% of its capacity. The printing speed should not exceed 60 mm/s, and a closed chamber is not necessary.
