Resin 3D printing has evolved progressively and advanced materials are now available that offer industrial quality results.

BASF is a German multinational known for the development of chemical products, including the production of materials for 3D printing, both for FDM and for resin and SLS. These products fall under the well-known Ultrafuse, Ultracure and Ultrasint brands, with a wide range of products to cover virtually all 3D printing needs for the industry.

BASF Ultracur3D RG1100 is a high-strength polyurethane-based engineering grade resin with mechanical properties comparable to conventional techniques used in sectors such as automotive and other demanding industrial fields such as injection moulding.

In addition to its good mechanical properties, Ultrcur3D RG1100 resin is also noted for its high temperature deflection, good chemical resistance and weatherability.

Ultrcur3D RG1100 is a resin that can be used for numerous applications, among which the following can be highlighted.

  • Automotive connections.
  • Engineering parts and functional prototypes.
  • External covers.
  • Brackets and housings.

Ultrcur3D RG1100 is a resin 3D printing resin compatible with LED-LCD, DLP, SLA 3D printing technologies.

Like the other resins in BASF's Ultracur3D range, RG1100 resin offers optimum print quality and an outstanding surface finish. This, together with its excellent price/performance ratio and its mechanical properties, high temperature resistance and chemical resistance, makes it an ideal material not only for prototype production but also for functional components and end products.

BASF's Ultracur3D resins are highly sensitive to light and should therefore always be stored in their closed containers and away from light.

Before starting a print, the resin should be shaken well and, if possible, vacuumed to remove any bubbles that may have formed.

Once printed, the pieces should be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. To do this it is advisable to immerse the pieces in a container with isopropyl alcohol and place this container in an ultrasonic cleaner for 4 minutes. It is recommended not to immerse the piece for long periods of time to avoid deformation and softening.

After cleaning, the pieces should be dried for 30 minutes at 40 ºC. Once dry, parts printed with BASF Ultracur3D resins should be cured at room temperature to obtain optimum properties. Curing conditions will depend on the characteristics of the printer used and the curing equipment.

All customers who have purchased any resin from the BASF Ultracur3D range can request the appropriate user guide. This can be done using the contact form by selecting "Technical Support" in the subject line and the order number of the resin.
