Ultracur RG35, developed by BASF (Forward AM) is a medium-viscosity, highly reactive urethane photopolymer tailored for rigid applications. Known for its exceptional stability and stiffness, RG35 provides high accuracy and low shrinkage, making it an ideal choice for producing high-performance functional parts. Available in both natural (RG35) and black (RG35B) formulations, this resin combines good temperature resistance with low water uptake, ensuring reliability in various conditions.

The impressive material properties of Ultracur RG35 further enhance its appeal for demanding applications. With a Young’s modulus of 2600 MPa and a tensile strength of 80 MPa, RG35 exhibits remarkable rigidity and durability. It also features a heat deflection temperature of 83°C, allowing it to maintain performance under elevated thermal conditions. The Shore hardness of 85 D adds to its robustness, making it suitable for applications such as automotive housings, jigs and fixtures, molds and inserts, and electrical castings. Additionally, RG35 is easy to polish, facilitating post-processing for a high-quality finish.

The Ultracur3D resins from BASF exhibit high light sensitivity, so they should always be stored in their closed container and away from light.

Before starting a print, it is necessary to shake the resin well and, if possible, place it under vacuum to eliminate any bubbles that may have formed.

Once printed, the cleaning of the parts must be done with isopropyl alcohol. It is recommended to submerge the parts in a container with isopropyl alcohol and place this container inside an ultrasonic cleaner for 4 minutes. It is advisable not to immerse the part for extended periods to avoid deformation and softening.

After cleaning, the parts should dry for 30 minutes at 40 ºC. Once dry, the parts printed with BASF Ultracur3D resins should cure at room temperature to achieve optimal properties. The curing conditions will depend on the characteristics of the printer used and the curing equipment.
