POLYMAKER-POLISHING-KIT

This official polishing kit by Polymaker is a kit designed to be a handy aid in the post-processing of parts 3D printed with the PolySmooth and PolyCast filaments. Using the polishing kit not only protects the user from IPA alcohol but also helps keep the workspace clean and organized, and prevents surface damage from IPA alcohol or melted PVB.

The Polymaker polishing kit is a more affordable but equally efficient way of removing layer lines from parts as the famous Polymaker Polysher device. The polishing kit contains the following items:

  • A 250 ml aluminum spray bottle with PP head.
  • A MOP paint brush.
  • A 50 ml measuring cup.
  • A 20 x 20 cm grid holder.
  • A pair of rubber gloves.
  • A 50 x 50 cm protective tablecloth.
  • A 50 g sample of the PolySmooth filament.

The polishing kit should be used in a well-ventilated space, away from open flames or sparks, and with the adequate personal protection equipment (as per IPA alcohol usage recommendations).

The aluminum spray bottle should be filled with IPA alcohol and used to spray it onto the part evenly 5-10 times until obtaining a smooth surface. The sprayed IPA alcohol should be allowed to dry for about 5 minutes inbetween applications. The MOP brush is helpful in applying IPA alcohol to surfaces that are difficult to spray.

It must be noted that IPA alcohol is not part of this kit and it must be purchased separately.
