Reciflex is the new flexible filament from the renowned filament manufacturer Recreus. Recreus is known for its high quality flexible filaments, as well as for including among its materials the most elastic flexible filament on the market: Filaflex.

Reciflex is a flexible TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) filament made from 100% recycled material. The recycled material comes from both footwear industry waste and Recreus' in-house filament production. Due to the mixture of different coloured materials, black pigment is added to homogenise and obtain a product with a replicable, solid and bright colour. For this reason Reciflex is only available in black.

This material is carefully selected and magnetically screened to avoid including any metallic residue in the filament manufacture. This ensures optimum performance of Reciflex during 3D printing.

The hardness of Reciflex filament ranges from 96A to 98A (Shore A). This is due to variations attributable to its origin as a recycled material, and the difference is virtually unnoticeable in the printed parts.

Despite being a recycled material, Reciflex has excellent mechanical properties and good solvent resistance like other TPU filaments, i.e. despite being a recycled filament it is a high quality material.

Reciflex is an ideal material for the manufacture of parts with high mechanical demands or parts that require resistance to solvents, for example:

  • Protective cases for devices (GoPro, mobile phones, etc.).
  • Protection for drones.
  • Wheels for radio control cars or robots.

Thanks to its hardness, Reciflex filament is an easy-to-print material. Despite being a flexible filament, it does not require the use of 3D printers with direct extrusion system, but can be printed with bowden type extruder without any problem, being compatible with almost any 3D printer on the market.

Thus, Reciflex is presented as one of the few recycled flexible filaments on the market, supporting the circular economy and generating a lower environmental impact without losing quality, suitable for demanding applications.

Also, as a new feature, Reciflex and PLA Purifier materials are included in Ultimaker's 'Material Alliance Program'.

You will be able to download the profiles of both materials for the Ultimaker S5 printer from the Marketplace, improving the printing quality of these materials, offering a correct printing from the first time, without complications and making it easier to use.

To download the profiles use this link, or access the Marketplace from the Ultimaker website, and from the 'Materials' section by typing 'Recreus' in the search filter to find both material sheets.

It is advisable to use Magigoo, 3DLac or BuildTak on the base of the 3D printer so that the first layer of Reciflex filament adheres correctly.

The ideal bed temperature is between 50 and 60 ºC, and it is advisable to use a warm bed. The recommended printing temperature is between 220-235 ºC and the recommended printing speed is between 20 mm/s and 60 mm/s.

It is recommended to reduce the pressure of the lever arm that presses the filament on the motor pulley to avoid strangling the filament and causing jams.

The recommended retraction parameters are 2-3 mm at 40 mm/s. In the event of printing problems due to filament slippage in the head, it is advisable not to use retraction and to increase the flow in the case of intermittent extrusion. In addition, it is also advisable to always print small parts without retraction and with the layer fan running.

The manufacturer Recreus 3D provides the printing profiles (CURA, SLIC3R, CRAFTWARE, KISSLICER or SIMPLIFY3D) for Reciflex at the following link.
