These Lay-Brick pellets by Kai Parthy are an FGF 3D printing material to be used for direct extrusion or filament production. The Kai Parthy Lay-Brick pellets have a greyish white color and are made from the same material as the Lay-Brick filament - mineralic fillers (sandstone-/chalk-like filler with calcium carbonate) and a binding polymer.

The Lay-Brick pellets have a size of 2-3 mm and are best processed on the Mahor V4 pellet extruder or the Tumaker 3D printers for direct extrusion onto a printing surface. It is also possible to make filament from the Lay-Brick pellets with the help of the Felfil EVO extruder or Filastruder.

The parts made with the Lay-Brick pellets have a surface finish similar to that of a ceramic or stone object. Nevertheless, it should be kept in mind that parts made with Lay-Brick pellets will not yield a fully stone/ceramic object but only simulate that surface finish. The surface finish can be additionally modified by raising the extrusion temperature from the standard 165-190 ºC to 210 ºC to get a rougher surface. The Lay-Brick pellets are ideal for applications in architecture or design.

It is very important to store Lay-Brick pellets properly in an airtight bag to prevent them from absorbing moisture from the environment before use. If the pellets have moisture in them, the resulting parts or filament may contain small imperfections.
