The HT-PLA filament offers excellent print quality and thermal stability, but to maximize its performance, it is recommended to follow the printing parameters and settings below.

Nozzle temperature

The ideal printing range is between 195 °C and 220 °C. For smoother surfaces and stronger layer adhesion, starting at 205 °C and adjusting according to flow and print speed is recommended. Higher temperatures improve layer bonding, while lower ones enhance surface finish.

Heated bed temperature

A heated bed between 40 °C and 50 °C is recommended to ensure good first-layer adhesion and prevent warping. In most cases, HT-PLA can be printed without additional adhesives, but for large parts or high-contact surfaces, Dimafix, 3DLac or Magigoo can improve adhesion.

Print speed

HT-PLA allows a print speed of 40 to 250 mm/s, offering high versatility. For high-precision results or detailed parts, print between 40 and 80 mm/s. For fast prints or functional parts, speeds up to 200 mm/s can be used without losing dimensional stability.

Cooling and ventilation

Using the layer fan at 70–100% ensures better detail definition and prevents material overheating. For large or technical parts requiring maximum strength, airflow can be reduced to 70% to improve layer cohesion.

Enclosed chamber

HT-PLA does not require an enclosed chamber to print correctly. Its low shrinkage and high thermal stability allow consistent results even on open or desktop printers.

Use of filament dryer

A filament dryer is not necessary. HT-PLA has low moisture absorption and maintains its properties even after prolonged storage, provided it is kept in a dry environment.

Nozzle type

A hardened or ruby nozzle is not required. The material can be printed with a standard brass nozzle as it contains no abrasive particles.

Final recommendation

For the best results with HT-PLA, it is recommended to keep the printer well-calibrated, ensure the first layer is properly leveled, and adjust fan speed according to part size and purpose. Thanks to its wide compatibility and ease of use, HT-PLA delivers professional results without complex settings.
