The PLA Silk Multi‑Color line from Bambu Lab includes two exceptional versions: PLA Silk Dual Color and PLA Silk Gradient, both designed to achieve striking and professional visual finishes in 3D printing. These alternatives create multi-color prints without needing to change materials, providing dynamic effects and smooth chromatic transitions with a silky texture and a glossy finish.

The PLA Silk Dual Color version creates surprising effects by combining two satin shades in a single filament strand. When the printed part is rotated, vibrant, constantly changing patterns emerge, ideal for decorative models, figures, and display pieces that require visual impact.

The PLA Silk Gradient option integrates between two and four gradual color transitions per spool, generating elegant, multi-tonal prints from a single load. This variant is perfect for vases, sculptures, or decorative designs that seek depth and sophistication through fluid gradients and silky finishes.

The glossy texture of the multi-color silk PLA provides a polished, professional surface to every project. Thanks to the sophisticated gloss finish, models reflect light intensely, which enhances the overall aesthetic and elevates the perception of quality in artistic or functional pieces.

This multi-color filament also includes smart RFID, with printing parameters integrated into the spool itself. The AMS (Automatic Material System) automatically reads this information when the material is loaded, eliminating manual steps and reducing errors in settings. Just load and start printing, without cumbersome configurations.

The Bambu PLA Silk Multi‑Color offers an unprecedented experience for those looking for 3D prints with integrated color variations, a silky effect, and a brilliant shine, all with maximum automated control and workflow efficiency.

To get the best performance and visual quality from prints with Bambu PLA Silk Multi‑Color, it is essential to keep the filament in optimal condition. Pre-drying is recommended at 55 °C for 8 hours before use and always storing it in a dry environment. If the material has absorbed moisture, this step is essential to avoid surface defects. More detailed information is available in the official filament drying guides.

The quality of the finish is optimized by reducing the outer wall printing speed to 40 mm/s, which allows for smoother surfaces and a more uniform shine.

The gradient effect of the PLA Silk Multi-Color depends on the amount of filament used. Adjusting parameters such as infill density, the number of parts printed in the same job, or the starting point of use on the spool can influence the intensity and length of each color transition. Each color segment has an approximate length of 20 m (65 g+). Using at least 40 m (125 g+) ensures a complete transition of two colors, while to enjoy a full cycle of four colors—as in the Dawn Radiance model—you need 80 m (250 g+) or more, thus guaranteeing the full visual potential of the filament.
