Nylon-Carbon Fiber (CF15) filament is an incredibly stronger, durable material and is ideal for making parts that require stress (eg bearings).

Another feature of the Nylon-Carbon Fiber (CF15) filament is that it has a high thermal and chemical resistance with a high processing stability and good rheological properties. On the other hand the Nylon-Carbon Fiber (CF15) has excellent impact resistance with low temperatures as well as a low thermal expansion. (Unlike other filaments that are less than 20 ° C in temperature, they become brittle).

The carbon fiber added to the nylon allows to achieve a greater resistance to the impact of the pieces printed with the filament CF15.

The majority of nylon filaments in the 3D printing market have a high absorption of environmental humidity so they end up causing print defects. However, the nylon-carbon fiber filament (CF15) has much lower moisture absorption than standard nylon.

With the addition of carbon fiber to the nylon base it is possible to obtain a better adhesion to the base with which it has very little warping and in addition a greater hardness is obtained surpassing all the nylons of the market.

Apart from all these mechanical properties, it is worth noting the carbon black finish of the CF15 filament, which makes it attractive even for architectural and design applications.

It is advisable to use a hardened steel nozzle or Olsson Ruby since the carbon fiber is quite abrasive and wears the brass nozzles.

To ensure the correct adhesion of the Nylon-Carbon Fiber (CF15) to the base, it's recommended to use BuildTakDimaFixPrintaFix or Magigoo PA. In addition to this adhesive it has been developed exclusively for nylon filaments and can be used with a microperforated base, PEI sheets or Kapton Tape can be used. It must be ensured that the adhesion of the first layer is firm and strong to prevent it from peeling off during 3D printing.

In case of warping effect the use of Raft is recommended to eliminate possible contractions in the printing of the part. It is also advisable to program the Brim, although effect will be lower and there could be a minimum occurrence of warping in the base depending on the geometry of the piece.

Because of the carbon fiber loads worn by brass extruders it is advisable to use hardened steel nozzles and it is also advisable to use cleaning filaments at the end of printing with this filament.
