A brass nozzle after being used for 250g of a filament with carbon fibers ends unusable , so that for a single coil of PLA-Fibra de carbono two nozzles are needed. To solve this problem, E3D has designed this hardened steel nozzle, which has not only been applied thermal and chemical treatments, but also presents a new internal design to favor the printing of these filaments, increasing the duration of the nozzle in more Of ten times.

The dark aspect is due to the thermal and chemical processes applied to it and even after surface cleaning may present an unfavorable aspect, but this does not affect the operation at all.

To know if the extruder of the 3D printer is compatible with the nozzle E3D Original you can read the following article: How to know if your extruder is compatible with an E3D nozzle v6

Nozzle v6

With the introduction of the E3D v6, a HotEnd with a higher printing temperature, greater precision and the possibility of using a great variety of filaments, a large number of nozzles of different diameter are added to the market. This variety of diameters allows to realize from small impressions with great detail of finish, to pieces of greater size at greater speed; Even a 0.4mm nozzle is ideal for almost all kinds of uses. These nozzles always show a great balance between speed, manageability and high resolution printing. This is due to the special care that has taken E3D in designing both the interior and exterior, giving it much importance to look for the exact geometry for each diameter.

The original hardened steel nozzle for the HotEnd E3D v6 has high wear resistance against filaments containing fibers, especially carbon fibers.

All nozzles of E3D v6 originals have shaped markings points to identify the outlet diameter. In the following table we have the relation of the number of marks with the exit diameter of the nozzle:

Nozzle Volcano

The original E3D Volcano HotEnd presents the perfect features for large, long-lasting 3D prints without losing finishing quality. In addition, it supports all E3D HotEnds except the Cyclops (compatible with HotEnd E3D v5 or v6), providing more work versatility to 3D printers.

This HotEnd offers the possibility of being used by four measures of nozzle, which attributes to the E3D Volcano all the necessary qualities to print pieces of the size and precision that is required. With a 0.8mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.6mm an error of only +/- 0.1mm is achieved, making it perfect for large parts in much less time, even half the time of other HotEnds.

Nozzle SuperVolcano

The SuperVolcano hotend is developed for large print runs at high speed. Compared to the E3D V6 hotends, the SuperVolcano has a volumetric performance up to 11 times higher, resulting in significant time savings.

The SuperVolcano Hotend works with large nozzles, from 0.6 mm to 1.4 mm, which are available in brass or hardened steel. Based on studies and tests carried out by E3D, it has been concluded that the use of a 1.0 mm nozzle offers the best balance between speed and detail.

As well as enabling faster print speeds, the large exit diameter nozzles allow for a larger printed surface area which improves layer adhesion and adhesion to the base, greatly reducing the chances of warping.

SuperVolcano is compatible with the entire E3D range, allowing you to upgrade to Hotends V6, Titan Aero, Titan Aqua or Hemera for bigger and faster 3D prints than ever before.

After printing in 3D with filaments containing carbon fibers, metal, wood, ceramics ..., remove it and insert the “Smart Clean”, cleaning filament to prevent further jams.

The v6 nozzles are compatible with HotEnd v5. It´s still recommended to use nozzle v6 for the HeatBreak v6. The Volcano nozzle is only compatible with the original Volcano E3D HeartBreak.

To exchange the nozzles correctly you must use the original E3D spanner.
