Tecnikoa is a Spanish manufacturer of FDM 3D printing filaments. Currently, Tecnikoa produces only TPU-based flexible filaments with a degree of rigidity that allows them to be easily printed with any FDM 3D printer, whether it has a direct or Bowden type extruder.
TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is a thermoplastic, more specifically a linear elastomer polymer belonging to the polyurethane family. This material is characterised by its high resistance to abrasion, certain chemicals, UV radiation and low temperatures. This set of properties makes the use of TPU widespread throughout the industry.
Filatecniko® granite filament is a flexible TPU-based filament with excellent physical and mechanical properties. Its 90 Shore A hardness offers unprecedented ease of printing among flexible filaments on the market. In addition, its printing temperature ranges from 195 to 205°C, allowing the material to be printed on almost any FDM 3D printer on the market.
Undoubtedly, Tecnikoa filaments always have a differentiating factor. In the case of Filatecniko® granite, its stone effect finish stands out, which contrasts with the flexibility of the material.
There are several PLA filaments with wood effect or stone effect finishes, such as PLA Stonefil or PLA EasyWood. Filatecniko® granite is the first flexible filament to offer this appearance, as it contains small particles that give it a marbled effect reminiscent of stone or marble.
Thanks to its original finish, Filatecniko® granite filament is an ideal material for the production of decorative pieces or fashion accessories, but thanks to its mechanical properties it can also be used for technical applications.

It is recommended to use Magigoo, 3DLac or BuildTak on the base of the 3D printer so that the first layer of Filatecniko filament adheres properly. The recommended printing temperature is between 215-250°C, and the recommended printing speed is 20 - 60 mm/s. The recommended shrinkage would be 3.5 - 6.5 mm for Bowden type extruder and 0.8 - 1.5 mm if using a direct extruder.
In case of printing problems due to slippage of the filament in the extruder head, it is advisable not to use retraction and to increase the flow rate in case of intermittent extrusion. For small parts, it is also advisable to always print without retraction and with the layer fan running.
TPU is a very hygroscopic material and therefore tends to absorb moisture. Once printing is finished, it is advisable to store the spool in an airtight bag. If the spool has not been stored properly, i.e. exposed to moisture, it is advisable to dry it in a filament dryer such as Printdry.
