The Flexfill 92A TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) filament is a very flexible material with a certain elasticity. It is a material with good adhesion between layers, which offers great mechanical properties, as well as high resistance to grease, oils and solvents; which makes it a very useful material in industrial applications.

Flexfill TPU 92A filament has a lower hardness than other filaments in the Flexfill TPU range, with hardnesses such as 98A. Because of its much lower hardness, Flexfill 92A filament is more complex to print on. Therefore, although it is possible, it is not recommended to print this filament with a Bowden type extruder, except for experienced users.

The Flexfill 92A filament creates very smooth surfaces, and has good resistance to abrasion and UV rays. In addition, it retains its elastic properties at low temperatures and has a high printing resolution compared to other flexible filaments such as TPE, making it more suitable for technical parts that require greater accuracy.

Table 1: Comparison of properties of the flexible filament range

In addition to its properties, this filament is recyclable and does not contain BPA or styrene.

For all these reasons, Flexfill 92A is an ideal material for those applications that require great flexibility, a certain elasticity and properties such as resistance to grease or oil, being able to manufacture parts with great detail. In addition, in printers with two heads, the Flexfill 92A can be used to add an additional layer over the rigid base material to create a surface that is soft to the touch.

It is advisable to use Magigoo, 3DLac or BuildTak in the base of the 3D printer so that the first Flexfill 92A TPU filament layer adheres correctly.

As for the ideal bed temperature is between 50 and 60 °C, the recommended printing temperature is between 220-240 °C and the recommended printing speed is 20-30 mm/s.

In case of problems of printing due to sliding of the filament in the head is advised not to use retraction and increase the flow in case the extrusion is intermittent, also in small parts it is also advisable to print always without retraction and with fan of the driven layer.
