The Nylon-Like ESD resin is a biocompatible 3D printing resin from POC Lab and tailored for LCD/DLP 3D printing. This resin is a composite that incorporates single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT), specifically designed for various applications that necessitate protection from electrostatic discharge. Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a natural phenomenon that occurs when accumulated electric charge transfers rapidly between two charged objects, creating an electric current.

Nano-conduction

Although ESD is generally not harmful to humans, it can have severe effects in certain situations, particularly in environments where delicate electronic equipment is present. This discharge can result in immediate damage or latent damage, which is often undetectable during testing and can lead to significant costs. The POC Lab Nylon-like ESD resin offers enhanced resistance and antistatic characteristics, safeguarding electronic components by conducting and dissipating any electrostatic charge into the resin during an incident.

The Nylon-Like ESD resin is engineered for diverse applications, making it suitable for producing high-precision components in both engineering and medical equipment, as it is bio-compatible for skin contact. This material boasts several advantageous properties, including high precision, impressive impact resistance, and superior mechanical characteristics, offering greater flexibility compared to ABS. Additionally, it features high surface hardness and wear resistance, along with isotropic ESD protection across all axes (XYZ), a surface resistivity of 1.17E+06 - 10⁶ Ω/sq and a volume resistivity of 1.33E+06 - 10⁶ Ω·cm.

Compatible 3D printers

The resin is fully compatible with the latest MSLA, LCD monochrome, and DLP printers operating within the 395-405 nm wavelength, such as the Anycubic Photon Mono X or the Phrozen Sonic Mighty 4K/8K, operating efficiently in High & Hyper Speed mode (up to 170 mm/h). However, older LCD RGB machines may require longer exposure times. More on the recommended printing parameters can be found in the resin’s technical datasheet in the Attachments section.

In order to achieve their intended properties, parts 3D printed with the POC Lab Nylon-like ESD resein must be post-processed. First, the parts must be washed in IPA alcohol and then post-cured for at least 20 minutes under UV light. The washing and curing can be done with the help of devices such as the Creality UQ-02 washing and curing machine, the Anycubic Wash and Cure Plus or the Zortrax curing station and Zortrax washing station. All these devices are compatible with parts 3D printed with the LCD/DLP technology.

The Nylon-like ESD resin should be stored properly in order to avoid resin degradation. Once opened, the resin should be used within 6 months. The resin can be kept in the tank for several weeks, protected from UV radiation, as it has excellent stability. Pouring the resin back into the bottle requires filtering it through a ≥1500 µm filter.
