The HT-160C ESD resin is a material developed and manufactured by POC Lab, a specialist in high performance resins for LCD/DLP 3D printing. The HT-160C ESD resin is a composite material filled with carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) ideal for use in engineering, molding as well as dentistry to 3D print precise ESD-safe parts that are also resistant to temperatures of up to 160 ºC.

Nano-conduction

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a phenomenon frequently occurring in nature when built-up electric charge flows between two charged objects in the form of electric current in a sudden and momentary fashion. While relatively harmless for people, electrostatic discharge can have devastating consequences in other contexts, for example environments where sensitive electronic devices are handled.

ESD events can cause instant damage or latent damage, the latter being undetectable at the stage of testing and very costly. Thanks to their improved resistance and antistatic properties, materials such as the POC Lab HT-160C resin protect electronic components and other sensitive elements by conducting and dissipating electrostatic charge into the resin in the event of an incident.

Apart from its isotropic antistatic properties, the HT-160C ESD resin is characterized by excellent rigidity and mechanical properties, as well as high dimensional precision, high surface hardness and wear resistance.

It should be kept in mind that the HT-160C ESD resin by POC Lab is fully compatible with MSLA, LCD and DLP printers but on older RGB LCD machines the exposure times will be very high.

In order to achieve their intended properties, parts 3D printed with the POC Lab HT-160C ESD resein must be post-processed. First, the parts must be washed in IPA alcohol and then post-cured for at least 30 minutes under UV light. The washing and curing can be done with the help of devices such as the Creality UQ-02 washing and curing machine, the Anycubic Wash and Cure Plus or the Zortrax curing station and Zortrax washing station. All these devices are compatible with parts 3D printed with the LCD/DLP technology.

The HT-160C ESD resin should be stored properly in order to avoid resin degradation. Once opened, the resin should be used within 6 months. The resin can be kept in the tank for several weeks, protected from UV radiation, as it has excellent stability. Pouring the resin back into the bottle requires filtering it through a ≥1500 µm filter.
