The PA612-CF15 filament is a high-performance polyamide option from the Fiberon catalog, made from a copolymer blend of PA6 and PA12, reinforced with 15% carbon fiber. Its unique chemical structure provides reduced moisture sensitivity compared to PA6-CF20, while offering enhanced mechanical properties over PA12-CF10. With the addition of carbon fibers and Warp-free technology, PA612-CF15 delivers outstanding strength, heat resistance, and dimensional stability, making it an excellent choice for demanding applications in aerospace, automotive, and composite manufacturing where precision and durability are crucial.

The PA612-CF15 filament offers a combination of enhanced material properties and easy-to-use printing features, such as minimal creep and the ability to perform high-speed printing at rates up to 300 mm/s. This filament does not require a heated chamber, allowing for consistent results at ambient temperatures. It is ideal for 3D printers designed for composite material extrusion, including models like the Raise3D E2CF and the Bambu Lab X1C. Additionally, PA612-CF15 is compatible with multimaterial systems, such as Bambu Lab's AMS module. For optimal durability and consistent printing performance, using an abrasion-resistant nozzle is recommended.

To boost the thermal and mechanical performance, PA612-CF15 parts should undergo a 100 ºC annealing process for 16 hours. This process requires careful handling to prevent deformation. Guidelines include waiting 24 hours after printing (or drying at 80 ºC for 2 hours) to relieve internal stresses, ensuring uniform oven temperatures, and adding supports (PolySupport for PA12 or PolyDissolve S1) for parts with overhangs, thin walls, or bridging structures. For optimal results, parts should be placed in the oven in the same orientation as during printing, ideally on the build plate itself, ensuring precise dimensional accuracy and long-term stability.

To achieve optimal print quality with the Fiberon PA612-CF15 filament, it is recommended to set the extrusion temperature between 250-300 ºC, and the print bed should be maintained between 40-50 ºC. It must be kept in mind that printing on a hotter bed will deactivate the Warp-Free technology. A room temperature for the build chamber is sufficient, and it is best to keep the cooling fan turned off. Fiberon PA612-CF15 supports high-speed printing with speeds of up to 300 mm/s, making it suitable for projects where efficiency is crucial.

Proper filament storage is essential for maintaining the quality of Fiberon PA612-CF15. To prevent compromised print quality due to moisture, it should be stored in a sealed container with desiccant. If the filament absorbs excess moisture, drying it at 100 ºC for 10 hours in a filament dryer is recommended (or PolyDryer at level 3 for 18 hours) to restore its optimal printing properties.

Since the Fiberon PA612-CF15 filament contains abrasive carbon fibers, it is highly recommended to use an abrasion resistant nozzle (hardnened steel, vanadium, ruby tip, etc) to avoid its excessive wear and, in consequence, inferior part quality.
