The ABS filament by Fiberlogy offers unparalleled durability, exceptional hardness and remarkable impact resistance. Parts 3D printed with this filament boast unparalleled sturdiness, are capable of withstanding high temperatures and are resistant to abrasion, which broadens the scope of potential uses for the Fiberlogy ABS.

The ABS filament is available in many colors

Another benefit of this material is that the 3D printed parts can be manipulated both mechanically and chemically to achieve personalized surface finishes. What makes the Fiberlogy ABS filament truly versatile is that it has been favorably assessed to be part of the Open Filament Program by Raise3D. This makes it possible to extrude this filament on the E2CF printer.

The versatility of this material finds diverse applications across several sectors. In prototyping, ABS excels in connecting elements and those requiring exceptional heat resistance. Within the realm of tools, it's ideal for crafting gears, racks, and components that demand sustained durability. Moreover, ABS finds its place in the creation of gadgets or their components such as phone cases, stands, and keychains. In the realm of toys, it proves invaluable for constructing sturdy elements like bricks, robot parts, or car components. Even in household equipment, ABS shines in crafting items like hangers, flower pots, and vases.

To ensure optimal print quality, it is necessary to select the appropriate settings for each 3D printer, considering the printing conditions. The recommended printing temperature ranges between 250 and 265 ºC, and the best bed temperature is 90 to 110 ºC (Kapton tape on glass). The layer fan should be set between 0 and 10%, and the flow rate between 95 and 105%. The recommended print speed is 35 to 60 mm/s. The ideal retraction speed is between 20 and 45 mm/s, with 2 to 3 mm retraction for direct extrusion and 4 to 6 mm retraction for Bowden.

Proper storage of ABS filament is essential, as processing damp filament can lead to polymer chain degradation, fragility, poor layer adhesion, stringing, and oozing. It's best to store the filament in a sealed bag with desiccant or in a vacuum-sealed filament container. If the filament absorbs excess moisture, it should be dried in a filament dryer at 60 ºC for 4 hours before it can be extruded.
