The Sonic Mighty 4K resin LCD 3D printer was designed to satisfy the needs for truly ambitious and detailed 3D prints, such as sceneries and terrain models. It has 4K resolution (XY resolution of 52 µm) and a 9.3” 4K mono-LCD screen with a 405nm ParaLED Matrix 2.0 light source. The build volume of the Sonic Mighty 4K is 20 x 12.5 x 22 cm and combined with the printer’s resolution, it means no more sacrificing detail for size. The precision of the Sonic Mighty 4K is almost double the precision of other resin 3D printers of this size on the market. It can 3D produce a model up to 4 times faster than other similar printers on the market, at an impressive speed of 1 layer in just 2 seconds.

The Sonic Mighty 4K 3D printer comes with a pre-calibrated building plate, which means that the printer is ready to work without the need for calibration. Stability and precision are no issue when large models are 3D printed on the Sonic Mighty 4K printer. This is because it is equipped with dual linear rails, and the ball screw design assures the stability of the Z-axis, which means an even print and no wobbling even with large and heavy models.

Just like all Phrozen 3D printers, the Sonic Mighty 4K 3D printer is very safe and intuitive. The user interface is a 2.8” touch screen and the printer connects through a USB port. The slicer software for the Sonic Mighty 4K is the CHITUBOX software, version V1.7.0 or higher. A valuable feature is that the Sonic Mighty 4K 3D printer allows for using third party resins.

In order to ensure the proper functioning of the Sonic Mighty 4K printer, the printing environment has to be dry and well ventilated. The printer should be placed on a flat surface and in indirect light. Gloves, a mask, protective goggles and long sleeved clothes should be used when handling resin to ensure safety.

The Sonic Mighty 4K 3D printer, the resin vat and the build place can be cleaned with sanitizing alcohol and tissue paper. The Z-axis T-screw should be lubricated to ensure smooth operation, for example with SuperLube by Loctite. The Z-axis should be wiped with a dry tissue or cloth before the application of the lubricant.

Before the Sonic Mighty 4K printer is used for the first time, the user manual (Downloads section) should be studied. The manufacturer provides numerous resources on how to set up the Sonic Mighty 4K printer, how to identify and fix common problems, how to maintain the 3D printer and how to post-process parts 3D printed with it.
